Upset!

Congratulations to Mackay but what happened to Garden Valley. Must've been a goooood game!

Recap

I just added a recap to give you a little more detail about the game. I'll do that for all the championship games. Thanks for reading.

All State teams

Hopefully the considerations for the all state boys basketball teams will look beyond 5A and 4A when compiling the overall state team. Dahmen from Genesee is an outstanding athlete, regardless of the sport.

All-Idaho

The All-Idaho team is separated by classifications, and I am sure coaches will give Dahmen a good look for the 1A Division I team. There is no overall team that combines all six classifications. The All-Idaho section will be published on March 29. You're right about Dahmen, and he really stepped it up a notch at state.

1A had some great athletes

Watched a couple of the 1A games and there is some great athletes I think they could dominate at the 5A level

College BB

How many of these super high school BB athletes go on to play at any college level basketball. It would be interesting to track some of the all-Idaho team members from years past. Only 1 I am aware of is a kid who played for Borah, Jesse Childs, but I'm not sure if he was on the all-state 5A team. He now plays college ball in Arizona.

Childs and Bogan

Childs is now playing at Wisconsin-Green Bay. Last year's 5A All-Idaho Player of the Year, Will Bogan is playing as a freshman at Ole Miss. There are others, but I'll have to take a closer look after the state tournament.

Update on past past all- stars

That would be really nice if
They did something like that an update to see where all past all stars have gone onto doing

3 point shooters

That Shelley game must have been some game -- 15 3 pt shots successful! Is is possible for a BB player to be good and not be a 3 pt shooter? Not in this day and age. Wish the idhsaa.org would update the status more often today.

Incrdible

It was an amazing game. Just when you thought the Russets would cool off, they seemed to heat up. Fruitland played a great game, but just ran into another good team.

Skyview game

That's what championship games should be -- one h e double toothpicks down to the wire and then again!

Pffft to idhsaa

for not putting the stats up for today when it really counts!

I hope this helps a little

I know its not the complete statistical rundown, but I added the box scores and cleaned up the blog so you have a better idea about what happened in each game.

Idaho Rose Reply GV upset

Thanks for wondering about the upset!! I think there were a number of factors -- first of all CONGRATULATIONS are absolutely in order to Mackay for their terrific wins over both Richfield and Garden Valley.....As far as GV -- I have alot of ideas on what happened -- but I need to address them at a higher level on fairness. Mackay did a great job, GV didn't sleep the night before and didn't play their usual game -- but that is no excuse -- I will take that up with other entities. There was alot of internal goings on -- injuries, key players unfortunately leaving directly after the game (emotionally hard on all), a very small bench -- and a bunch of good old boy stuff going on -- only in MY opinion -- that almost got me thrown out of the game. So don't listen to anything I have to say.....It was a terrific game, but GV was not even close to its normal playing ability.

Jesse -- you are so kind!

Thanks so much for the additions you keep adding -- much appreciated!

Lewiston/Madison 14-13 1st qtr

Next year, I'm not staying home and miss these goooood games!

Treasure Valley absence

CONGRATULATIONS TO LEWISTON --
that's one long dry spell.

Find it shameful that among the top 4 teams in 5A not one TV team.

Thanks, Jesse

for keeping those of us in the outskirts appraised.
