Support your local political party

The Idaho Republican Party wants to fight what it describes as the runaway spending of national Democrats.

And Republicans would like to drum up some state income tax dollars to do it.

In an e-mail Tuesday, state GOP chairman Norm Semanko urged party members to sign up for a checkoff that allows taxpayers to earmark $1 of income taxes to the political party of their choice.

Here's an excerpt from Semanko: Barack Obama and his liberal friends in Congress are spending tens of billions of dollars — every day — with no end in sight. They believe that we can spend our way to prosperity and that big government is the answer to all of our problems.

We know that is not true. ...

Please help us communicate this message by taking the opportunity to donate $1 per individual on your State Tax return.

The checkoff does not increase the donor's tax bill — or decrease the amount of a refund.

Last year, Republicans collected $30,891 through the checkoff. Democrats received $35,540 — an edge the party points out at its Web site.

I think it is safe to say that all intelligent people see the

Republicans for the hypocrites they are. Anyone not realizing that yet is simply a Republican.

You really like hanging labels on people.

It's really un-poetic.

Nice Rhetorical device Poet

You might as well have said, "I'm sure you'll all agree with me...." The truth is that there is plenty of hypocrisy and intellectual imcompetence on both sides of the aisle. There's an awful lot of folks who have checked their intellect at the door to worship at the feet of Obama.

Oh, and one difference: you know that large majority in the House the Democrats have? It's exactly because of Republicans who got ticked off at the hypocrisy they showed when in charge of the purse strings. They either stayed home, or they voted for people they could count on to live up to their philosophy. Had all those "stupid Republicans" kept on voting for Republicans who refused to act as fiscal conservatives, Obama might not have the rubber stamp he has today.

Democrat vs. Republican

A Democrat is someone who graciously lets you keep some of the money you earn before they take and spend the rest.

A Republican is someone who believes the money you earn is rightfully yours, but that God gave them the right to take as much of it from you as they decide they need.
