Pre-game
Seven Maryland players — LB Trey Covington, LB Derek Drummond, LB Moise Fokou, DB Jamari McCollough, WR Danny Oquendo, LB Antwine Perez and RB Da'Rel Scott — will not start in today's Roady's Humanitarian Bowl because of a curfew violation.
Four of the players — Covington, Fokou, Oquendo and Scott — are traditional starters. The players include four of the Maryland's top six linebackers.

or will they NOT start? Proofreading needed.
Watching the game....
How many times will the ESPN anouncers call nevada Boise State. 2 so far and it is the 1st quarter. Do anouncers do that in the super bowl or rose bowl... I think not... sure wish they would be professional. Guess announcers do have to be bright, just able to talk.
Ha ha
Well, I don't have ESPN so I'm not watching the game, but I heard Nevada is wearing their blue uniforms and they're playing on the blue turf so I guess it's to be expected.
ESPN goofs
They are always getting things wrong. In the BSU/San Jose game one of the announcers said that Ian had a ruptured kidney (not lung) in the 2006 season. Duh..
Kidney..lung...it's all in about the same spot. Not a Welby they

Attendance?
Hey Murph, how is attendance?
Attendance
Volunteer,
Not great. The east stands look pretty good, but the west stands aren't that great. I don't have an official number, but I'd say somewhere around 20,000.
The ho-HUM Bowl
Is it too much to ask to put the Humanitarian Bowl logo at center field? What about putting Nevada's and Maryland's logo in the endzone? This game has no feel of a bowl game whatsoever.
Come on Bowl Committee, WAC, Boise State or whoever else -- if you're going to have a bowl, make it look like one!
Huh?
And destroy our beautiful blue turf? No way jose...
Bwahah, really?
Get real, gman1. It won't destroy the 'precious' turf. Every other bowl game does this.
I agree, MSP. The Humanitarian Bowl is a joke. It either needs a serious revamping or a quick death.
right
It's astro turf... What do you want them to do? Rip a hole out of it and plant another logo on it?
Right on MSP
It's the only bowl game in the country that doesn't have the look of a bowl game. Is the H-Bowl fund too shallow that they can't paint logos on the field or did BSU block that?
It's another black eye for Boise on the national scale. Remember the NCAA Tournament when the horn went off and no one could figure out how to shut it off. Flat-out embarrassing.
I cannot believe you even care about that...
Those are usually multipurpose fields and the field is sectioned for that purpose. This isn't.

Maryland's coach
The Terp's coach needs to go on a weight watchers plan... Been hitting too many of those Roady truck stops..
WAC
One more game to prove how pathetic the WAC is. The bottom half of the conference would get beat up by better IAA schools and the "upper" half can't even beat average teams from real conferences. I laugh at these BSU homers who think that they have big time football. Sit in a stadium with 100,000 people then tell me about big time football.
Coach
I think that Terp coach is going to die from over eating.. This is serious stuff. Twelve hamburgers and 20 cans of soda pop for lunch is an unhealthy way to live...
We who are about to eat you belch and salute dinner.

believers
no matter how often you prove that BSU is overated and the WAC is the weakest conference out there, people refuse to believe it. WAC 1-4 in bowl games this season. Beaten by the likes of Notre Dame, Maryland, Colorado State, and TCU. Boise State is a good mid-major and nothing more. Quit focusing all your thoughts on BCS bowls, face it you're not ready. Oklahoma was a fluke. Enough said.
Believe what?
Still ticked off over that Oklahoma loss to Boise huh? Don't worry we will pay you back next year...
Uh, yeah...
Seeing as how BSU is 1-4 in bowl games in the last 5 attempts, I wouldn't hold your breath.
ok
Oh I'm not talking about bowls.. We'll add you into our regular season and watch you squirm.
lol
Like you added UC Cal Davis...ooooh the rest of the D-I community is just trembling at the thought of playing mighty Boise State...lol!!!! Eventually you'll learn that you have to pay to play in this community and then all of this "funny business" about winning percentage and respect will end...you'll simply play for respect every week like the rest of the BCS community. We need a playoff that does not include pretenders...like BSU!
Deport them
So a team that travelled from Maryland and had four players — Covington, Fokou, Oquendo and Scott — who are traditional starters, and did not start, beat a WAC team?
Weak?
The weak WAC? Well the weak WAC beat number 2 Oregon who just man-handled OSU.
Yeah, and Maryland didn't play anyone all year
So brainiacs, who the heck did Maryland play to get to 7-5 and who did Nevada play to get to 7-5. Do your homework before you post on this blog site. Oh, and Murph, perhaps you should set up a mindless filter for those who continue to diss the Broncos and the WAC without basis.
conference power
BSU would be a .500 football team at best in all the major conferences, (Pac-10,ACC,Big10,Big-12,SEC), maybe a shade better in the MWC. Don't try and sell me your win's against Pac-10 or MWC teams. Playing one game each year against a tougher conference and winning is great, but being in that conference and playing higher caliber competition week in and week out is entirely different. What BSU has done since 1996 is amazing, I just get a little tired of the homer fan's overrating the team.
Weak
I think you saw how good Oregon could play with a healthy QB. They barely lost to BSU with a 3rd string signal caller. BSU should consider themselves lucky to get out of Oregon with a win.
It is always funny that BSU's biggest wins are against teams that have their star player injured and not playing up to their abilities.
You don't think that a healthy Adrian Peterson wouldn't have devoured a poor BSU defense in the F Bowl?
Rebuilding?
Huh? Did you realize that BSU is in the rebuilding process? Our qb Kellen Moore is a FRESHMAN... Just wait till next year.
Oregon was good, but...
...your argument is based on what ifs? Who is Oregon's first string QB anyway? I heard that Masoli has to compete with Roper and Thomas this spring and fall for the starting spot.
I'm looking forward to this next season and especially against Oregon on the blue turf as it will be a great game, win or lose for the Broncos.
ACC Stinks
BC just got beat by 4th place Vandy.. What a poor performance by the ACC. Deport them.
