TCU coach reportedly to interview with Auburn

TCU coach Gary Patterson is expected to interview for the head coaching job at Auburn on Thursday, ESPN.com reported.
Patterson also had been linked to job openings at Clemson and Tennessee. Both of those jobs have been filled.
Other candidates at Auburn include Louisiana Tech coach Derek Dooley, who said Thursday he had preliminary discussions with the Tigers but nothing "in-depth from an interview standpoint."

Boise State has commitments for 4,328 Poinsettia Bowl tickets, which includes sales and complimentary player tickets. At least 1,200 of those tickets have gone to friends and families of the players — through comps and additional sales.
Boise State has 7,500 tickets to the game.

Mark May, who said on the air that the Broncos would have four losses in the Mountain West, will help call the Poinsettia Bowl for ESPN. Lou Holtz and Rece Davis round out the crew.

Boise State coach Chris Petersen is one of nine finalists for the Eddie Robinson Coach of the Year Award.
The other candidates are Mack Brown of Texas, Pete Carroll of USC, Mike Leach of Texas Tech, Urban Meyer of Florida, Joe Paterno of Penn State, Nick Saban of Alabama, Bob Stoops of Oklahoma and Kyle Whittingham of Utah.

I doubt BSU would have 4 losses in the MWC!! BSU would be one of the top 4 teams and would probably have 1-2 losses this year. It would just come down to who played who at home. Look at Utah, if they had played TCU on the road they would have lost for sure. If we ever get a playoff though BSU will not want to be in the MWC, stay in the WAC were you can go undefeated every year and get an auto bid to the playoffs, were you would proceed to get killed by USC or Texas or Alabama or Florida or Oklahoma this year. And for all you homers who still live off that Oklahoma win from a few years ago, BSU could not beat Oklahoma this year and you know it. Be honest with yourselves. The BSU defence would not hold up against Texas,Oklahoma,Florida,or USC. Get real. If Oklahoma can score 60 points on Mizzouri, Texas Tech and Kansas then they would hang 60 on BSU also.

Sorry BCS6, it really doesn't matter what you think Oklahoma "might" score on Boise State this season. The facts and reality are that in the only game the two teams have played against each other, the result was a victory for Boise State and a loss for Oklahoma. Game, set, match. One day, when your Sooners run into the Broncos again on the gridiron, we'll be able to see who comes out on top. Until then, the Broncos can justly and proudly say that they own the Sooners. Let me say this again... The Boise State Broncos have never lost to the Oklahoma Sooners. Or, from your perspective, the Oklahoma Sooners have never beaten the Boise State Broncos. Sorry man... Just the facts. Go Blue!

That was a good win two years ago, two years ago. You know you don't really think that BSU would beat any of the top 5 teams this year. BYU beat the #1 team in the nation (Miami) when TY Detmet was there. Who cares does that mean they are the #1 team right now? Even Miami sucks now!! What do you think will happen to Utah in the Sugar Bowl? What happened to that Hawaii team that beat BSU last year? East Carolina beat you last year, they must be way better than you guys this year right? BSU would beat East Carolina this year and Oklahoma would beat BSU this year too, and you know it. Like I said in the first post, I think BSU would do just fine in the MWC. They would battle for the title with BYU,TCU and Utah. I am not one of those morons that says BSU would have 4 losses in the MWC. There are not 4 teams in the MWC that are better than BSU this year or any other year, but I don't think they would have gone undefeated. I doubt Utah would have either. The NCAA needs to kick the Big East and ACC champs out of auto bids or just give us a playoff. As it is now BSU will never play in a NC game, and if we get a playoff BSU or Utah or BYU will never play in a NC game, because they would loose in an early round of the playoffs. If BSU wants to make it to the BCS every once in a while then schedule like they do now, if BSU wants to build a national power then Schedule like Gonzaga Basketball. BSU will never be able to recruit the 4 and 5 star recruits until they give the players games that they can look forward to. BTW not a sooners fan, not even close!!

BSU beat the crap out of Oklahoma (and for those who argue that - remember that it was a freak bounce off a BSU players leg that turned that entire game around)
Two years ago BSU owned Oklahoma. Now, neither one owns the other. IF they met right now, BSU'd probably lose, but NOT by 60, that's for sure!
We don't need to argue over a game from two years ago. The fact BSU beat them back then means little to right now. It makes as much sense as arguing the teams Boise College beat when they were national champs years ago are nothing compared to BSU now. (And those teams may or may not be awesome now - I don't sit around and do research on stuff like that!)
The only common denominator to that incredible Fiesta Bowl team and today's team is a small handful of players. 2008? THis is a new and RADICALLY good team that Boise is putting out there! I seriously think we Bronco fans are going to be in hog heaven over the next few years, and maybe longer. THe school appears to be doing the right things within reason (thank you for Petersen's paycheck!) and our whacky blue turf coupled with second to none coaching and stellar effort from these kids is going to just yield great results. I'm so happy to be a Bronco fan!

HOWEVER, they should still be given the opportunity! Same teams every year for monetary purposes

I agree, get rid of the Big East and ACC champs. I would rather see BSU than Cincy!! or VA TECH? That orange bowl is a joke. I totally disagree that BSU got screwed out of the Fiesta bowl this year. Ohio State is not the problem, the SMALL East and ACC are the problem!!

Seriously - BSU would have gotten SO MANY MORE viewers for the Orange bowl. I don't care if we live 500 miles from the nearest large metro area. TV is a national thing. People love underdogs, especially underdogs who represent themselves outstandingly well like we did in Fiesta Bowl! Believe me - they've made a mistake not putting BSU in the orange bowl. They're scared to death it would be another Hawaii game. Here's an idea - have reps from these bowls go to ALL the BSU games and actually form an opinion about our team after watching them fight like dogs every single game and WIN every single game! I know the expense would be pretty stifling, but when you compare those airline tickets and hotel bills to the jillions these games pull in, it would be cost effective.

Boise has a national following, regardless of what non-Bronco fans want to think, and I know for a fact that people from AROUND THE COUNTRY would tune in to see if those guys with the cheesy blue football field are for real or not.
**This has ABSOLUTELY nothing to do with how many people live in the metro areas you describe.** I mean, how many of those people care to even watch a college football game in the first place? Besides, I'd bet that Idaho has a far higher per-capita football watching population, if BSU (or even the Vandals) were the team playing. Idahoans love their football teams. That's that.
The Fiesta bowl viewership was on the way down before BSU ever got into that '07 game. But the 4th quarter viewership skyrocketed when it became apparent it was turning epic. Boise obviously won that game, as underdogs against a powerhouse of a traditionally known team. No one thought BSU would even stay on the field, let alone win (and win in such a dominating fashion, along with drama and gutsy plays!) You've got to be completely in denial if you think the nation would not turn on their TV's to see if that crazy little team from Boise could do it again!
That's why I think BSU would draw more viewers.

You win. The Broncos are irrelevant on a national level. Our quarterback did not end up on the cover of the nation's top selling college football video last year. Our team is not in the top ten again thanks to a 12-0 season so far. We're not tied in the nation at first place for winningest program in NCAA history. Gosh, who knows why on earth ESPN keeps putting us on national TV when we have weeknight games. Silly rabbits!

Clady is a very, very good rookie lineman. He went up against Julius Peppers all night long and won the majority of battles. With Clady and Scandrick on the team this year we would could have beaten any team in the nation! Chew on that thought Mark May!

I know we're in a crummy conference. We all know it. You cannot use this to rile us up or hurt our feelings. No news flash there, Sherlock! But when you actually bother to read what the Bowl bound teams we BEAT did, then you can see that putting us in a 5 loss situ against MWC is a joke. Any of the MWC teams that are going to a Bowl have their potential opponent BACK OUT because they did not want to lose against them? When that happens, we'll begin to listen to you.
Go back to your Reintroduce Wolves Where They Don't Belong letter writing campaign. OR are you a Wolfpack fan?
