Childs will get feedback from NFL advisory committee; Wilson uncertain of NFL decision

Boise State junior wide receiver Jeremy Childs said Monday that he would submit his name to the NFL advisory committee for feedback about his NFL status.

But Childs, who was named first-team All-WAC for the second consecutive year earlier in the day, reiterated that he planned to return for his senior season with the Broncos — no matter what grade the advisory committee gave him.

“I’m looking for some insight just so I can get feedback,” Childs said. “I wouldn’t change my decision (to return).”

The NFL advisory committee gives underclassmen a way to gauge their draft status without losing their college eligibility.

Boise State running back Ian Johnson took advantage of the committee last season and returned to school after he received a late-round grade. Former cornerback Orlando Scandrick also got a grade from the advisory committee and decided to skip his senior season.

“I love the team’s success, the whole vibe of the team. I love Coach (Chris Petersen), (wide receivers) Coach (Brent) Pease. I want to reach the capability of what I can do,” Childs said.

Junior cornerback Kyle Wilson, a first-team All-WAC selection, said he had not given much thought to his NFL future.

“I try not to think about that. When you start thinking about the NFL and stuff, you lose sight of your goals that you are trying to accomplish in college. I have a lot more goals that I’m trying to accomplish,” Wilson said.

Wilson said he would talk with Boise State coaches before deciding whether to submit paperwork to the NFL advisory committee.

“I want to finish out the season the right way,” Wilson said.
