It’s on to offensive line No. 10 for the Boise State football team this week.
The Broncos expect to start Andrew Woodruff at left tackle, Jon Gott at left guard, Thomas Byrd at center, Kevin Sapien at right guard and Nate Potter at right tackle.
Woodruff, the only lineman to start every game this year, played left tackle for four games from Southern Miss through New Mexico State. He moved back to left guard for the past two games.
Gott, who didn’t start last week against Idaho, moves back into the lineup. Tackle Matt Slater moves out after making three straight starts.
Coach Chris Petersen said this week’s line changes are to create the best combination for this week’s game at Nevada. He wouldn’t go into more detail, but it’s likely the Broncos wanted to put their best offensive lineman (Woodruff) up against the two defensive ends that are the heart of the Nevada defense.
Sophomores Dontay Moch and Kevin Basped have combined for 15.5 sacks this season, by far the most of any set of ends in the league.
“You always see at least one of them at least trying to chase a guy down from behind,” Boise State offensive coordinator Bryan Harsin said. “And there’s quite a few clips on here where they catch ‘em. They’re just relentless.”

Junior wide receiver Jeremy Childs says he will return to the Broncos in 2009 for his senior season.
“I get that question a lot,” he said, “but I always told my mom I’d get my degree. I made a commitment to the school to go to school, so I don’t see why me leaving early, (there) would be any reason. I want to get my degree. That’s first and foremost. I love the coaches here. … I want to play with the team and play with these players as long as I possibly can.”
Childs is fourth in Boise State history with 153 career receptions. He needs 10 more to move into second. He likely needs to return for his senior season to break the record of 189, set by Don Hutt from 1970 to 1973.
I’ll have more with Childs in Saturday’s edition of Bronco GameDay.

Coach Pete always seems to press
the right buttons, but wow! I can't say I'm a huge fan of all the line changes, especially in week 11 of the season. Hope it works out. War Bronco!
Childs is smart
he will probably own every meaningful receiving record by the end of next season. In addition, he will more than likely, at least based on the schedule, play in a BCS game next year. Might help his draft position too. He also isnt that far removed from his off the field issues. The NFL might want to see some more distance from those problems before they draft him.
Tear'em up this saturday jeremy. We need a big game from you.
Child's promotes integrity
Now that's something nice to read about a Bronco player. Stick it out and work hard off the field like you do on and the Degree will be yours.
I'm predicting a BIG WIN for the Broncos
I just feel it...I do! And great decision Jeremy! Glad you will be around for another year. I hope it's a banner year for you at that! GO BRONCOS!!!
childs to go PRO
If Childs comes back next year and keeps it up, he will likely go 2nd round in the draft as apposed a lucky, late 3rd round this year. My thoughts. I think he knows he needs one more year to impress the NFL and its not all about the degree. I could be wrong.
You ARE wrong
You are wrong to disrespect Mr. Childs with your comment.
He said he promised his mom that he would get his degree -- that's as close to swearing on a Bible without swearing as you can get. Please keep your thoughts to yourself instead of calling the man a liar in "public"...
Uh...read the comment before replying
All they said was that he would go pro, not go pro next year
Childs
Two catches that he made in the Oregon were as spectacular as any made by any receiver in the country. He's an "All American" right now, and maybe next year he'll be officially recognized. I had been worrying about his going pro because he's that talented and will do well in the NFL.
Yea Childs!
I'm so glad to hear he's around for '09- both because I love watching him play and I love how he's manning up and sticking with what he told his mom he'd do! THAT is the special something that Broncos have (thanks more than partly to Petersen) They have the ability to be great players and great men.
I'm glad one of my all time favorites will be there next year for me while I miss Ian...
Ian - I sure hope you go to the Packers so I can watch you with Hall and Colledge!'GO BRONCOS! and BSU 42, UNR 7
"Childs promotes integrity," Ha Haaaaaa!
As a BSU graduate and die hard fan, it makes me sick to hear people talk about how great Jeremy Childs is week in and week out. After cheating on who knows how many tests last year and getting caught, Childs should have never been able to step foot on the blue turf again. Oh, but we are undefeated so that doesn't matter anymore. The school is upset this week at USA Today's article on the clusters of student athletes working towards certain degrees, but they continue to let Childs play football after he was willing to cheat our own system, what a joke. The Broncos have a great reputation for a blue collar work ethic that I think gets ruined by players like Childs. On top of that, watch Childs on the field, he acts like the thug he is from L.A. This guy has no integrity and could care less about getting a degree! Childs' mother needs to read into the B.S., Jeremy is here for one reason and one reason only, to catch footballs and act like an idiot every time he gets a chance on the field. I beg you Childs...GO PRO!
Integrity to his mom
Ya, we all know he cheated b/c he is a football player that has his whole life strewn in the paper when he does good and when he does bad so all of us normal people can pick him apart. I think the integrity comes from sticking to it, saying he made a mistake, asking for forgiveness, and going on after that clears. Now I read he plans on staying b/c he wants to finish something he started and get his degree. That's what I was getting at. He was punished. He had to miss some important games. That loss to ECU, if he was there that probably wouldn't have happened. I give him my respect for sticking it out and going on.
"Childs promotes integrity," Ha Haaaaaa!
Hey hullsneck,
Those with the type of integrity you are defining as the standard very seldom if at all do "public call outs" on others. It doesn't mean we have to condone behaviour, we believe is unnacceptable but it doesn't grant a license to publicly call people we don't know, out. Do you actually know Jeremy Childs? Do you have insight other than what you read in the paper? And if you know anything about moms, you would know that they want their kids to get degrees... and to learn from their mistakes. Undoubtedly you would be the only person to have not cheated while in School and unto College, and that's admirable... Have you ever lied about anything in your life? Have you ever made a mistake? Are you grading Child's error as a greater sin then any of yours? Think about it for a moment and if you still think you are worthty of your position, then go ahead and throw that first stone.... as there is little or no hope in you...
Thank you for your words of wisdom!
First off, I appreciate your support in the fact that there is no hope for me. Secondly, I did not cheat my way through school, and no I don't believe that I am the only one. The fact is that Boise State did condone cheating by letting Childs continue to play football. It sends a bad message to our young team and possible recruits for the future that they reign as kings while playing in Boise. This football program has a lot more integrity than that, and its a shame to let someone like Childs continue playing after disrespecting the program the way he did. Also for your information, I have had the opportunity to meet Childs many times through school and various occasions away from school and football, and nothing that I have said was a stretch from the truth. As for "public call outs," my comments were directed at fans like yourself that could care less what our team stands for as long as they are winning. Yes, I am as excited as everyone else about what our team has accomplished this year, and with a big part coming from Jeremy Childs, nobody can take that from him. My point is that athletes at Boise State need to be held accountable, they promote the program and are role models to thousands of young fans. If any other student was caught like Childs was, do you think they would still be attending Boise State? Lastly, go ahead and give yourself a big pat on the back and let everyone in your office (or trailer park) know that you did your good deed today by standing up for someone that succesfully got away with cheating the system. Nobody is perfect, and posting a comment questoning the B.S. statements Childs made to the Statesman is hardly a, as you put it, "public call out." It is more like publicly calling out some B.S.!
Agree with Hullsneck....as I
Agree with Hullsneck....as I sit here in the BSU library writing a Politics paper, I should refrence to Childs so that I can just Plagiaries it... Not like I WILL GET KICKED OUT OF SCHOOL FOR IT...OH WAIT, I DON'T PLAY FOR THE FOOTBALL TEAM SO MY A** WOULD BE GONE! If I was someone who has ever been kicked out of BSU for plagerism I would be knocking on the admin door appealing it. I work full time, single 23 year old parent of two, and drilling reservist and here I am using my only sleep time to complete homework... I should just cut and paste! I love bsu football but don't agree with the politics behind it...it's all about the money- refrence the BCS system. And a quick question, is the underaged drinker "Titus Young" still on scholarship? i see him around school, just wondering if our bsu scholarship funds are supporting his partying habits... these guys need to look up to these 4 years seniors who are already working on masters degrees... football only goes so far and then its to the real world where no one cares that you played college football, your just another memeber of society that is as despensable as the next. So good luck with that comm. degree, we could use a new broadcast crew for our football games!
Get back to work
Why U wasting your time when you have a paper due and sleep to get?
You're right andrewphillips.
You're right andrewphillips. If any other student was caught cheating, they wouldnt be given a second chance. By letting this kid stay in school, BSU is living up to it's name. Who cares if he promised his mother he'd get a degree? He shouldnt even be in school anymore. He should be at some juco or FCS school like the kid from LSU. It's unfortunate that BSU put athletics before integrity.
Blue Field
Seriously, what is with that blue playing surface. It's absolutely ridiculous. Not a BSU fan, but that's all people talk about. It's high time to ditch that circus side show field and live on your own merits as a solid team. Recruits would prefer it.
Trollville comment on blue turf
Where have you been for the last 25 years, Umma Troll? Arguments pro and con are rampant, and the blue has stood the test of time. Recruits don't like it? Oh, you are so wrong. Recruits I've talked with don't have that reaction whatsoever.
(I don't know why I comment back to people just looking to make an argument. Time to go to bed!)
It's a sign of better economic times?
that umma takes time to complain about our blue turf! Things must be pretty rosy in umma's life if the 22 years of blue turf are just now surfacing as a whining point! Wow. Go volunteer at a food bank umma. Find some of the real issues in life that need addressing. (And let our blue turf on national tv just keep getting high school kids attention!)
SEE YOU ALL FRIDAY!! GO BRONCOS!
don't waste your time
People like Umma don't even warrant a response. Don't waste your time.
