Final thoughts on the Idaho Hammer incident; Contest winners
For some reason, some media people have claimed that Boise State tailback Doug Martin did not use the Broncos' Hammer to hit the Idaho logo at midfield before Saturday's game in Moscow.
I wrote an entire column on the incident in Sunday's editions of the Idaho Statesman after witnessing it with my own eyes. Apparently, that is not enough for some.
So today I spoke with Bronco safety Ellis Powers, who was right next to Martin during the pre-game incident.
"He swung it and he hit it," Powers told me.
Hopefully, this ends any speculation about the incident — and whether or not Martin hit the turf. And maybe, just maybe, some in the media will make sure of their facts before calling others liars. Much of what we have in this business is our integrity.

I started checking this site http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/schedules when I first read of the possibility. I'm not sure if it means anything, but two days ago the ESPN site said BSU @ UN would be carried only on espn360.com. Yesterday they took that off, and have left it blank. I just keep checking there and at the Statesman site. Man, BSU had better cover a six point spread, and get some style points doing so. Another crazy finish like last year's will not help catch Utah. The Cougars might do us a favor, though. I never cheer for BYU, but the Utes are prime for an upset.

Tom Scott who I assume is the person in question here is an absolute idiot! He is like the DJ 3000 on the Simpsons, he just spews inane chatter that is already common knowledge or was already printed a few days before in the newspaper. Somehow because he's been around a long time he is qualified to be a BSU leading man, but only the past 12 years or so (since BSU became D1) are even relevant. While Mark Johnson is much better than Augusto, the Channel 7 presentation is almost unwatchable and Tom Scott is much to blame. He doesn't know the first thing about breaking down a football play (the term analyst is used in his job description) and he often leaves Mark hanging when Johnson attempts to lob up a verbal softball. Much like Scott did to Augusto although usually, Augie was fighting to keep his head above water and Scott just sat there watching him drown. Tom Scott is arrogant and poor at what he does. He speaks well with a well-groomed clip, but beyond that he would be the one sinking if he actually had to compete for a job in the business that wasn't given to him because he's been here the longest. Hot dog! We have weiner! Ding Ding! How bout those Isotopes!"

Tom Scott is not part of the Peak team. To be honest I go to all the games so I haven't even heard them other than in the car to and from. I can say they are pretty vanilla but better than listening to Caves rant nonsense and while I truly think Paul J has a great radio voice, he was just too inconsistent with his calls. And 40 years aint broke? I'm assuming you mean it doesn't need fixin? Well that's my point, he's been around forever and that's his only street cred. If Tom Scott went somewhere he wasn't known he'd be unemployed. This whole thing is a microcosm of what's wrong with Idaho. The majority of people are so set in there ways they won't accept that there are better options out there. That's why the downfall of Paul J caused such an uproar and why they keep building Mormon churches on every corner. People just don't think much for themselves. I see you're from Oregon. Do you remember Bill Schonele? That's 40 years, don't fix it. He earned it. Tom Scott is no more than the only fish in a tiny pond that stayed in the water when the pond got bigger.

Ok so this Kap guy he's suppose to be pretty good right! This passing defense they have isn't so good I hear. I wonder if its becuase teams have to pass to catch up kinda like BSU's D had been for the last 5 years or so. The difference in this game IMO is the 3rd safty Wilcox has plugged in this year. Its no secret, that spread offense teams are having a harder time against it. I don't think Nevada is going to be any different. I do think Nevada will move the ball and score on us but when it comes down to it you can't keep running the ball when your down 2TDs. Expect a game similar to UO spread with some speed, the QB can throw, but the difference is we know what we're getting with kap this year. Nevada won't be able to slow the broncs down, I'll look for another clean game and a win.
