ESPN interested in Boise State-Nevada

ESPN has expressed interest in showing Saturday's Boise State-Nevada football game on one of its networks but a deal has not yet been reached to make that happen, KTVB play-by-play announcer Mark Johnson said Monday.

KTVB is scheduled to air the game, which kicks off at 2:07 p.m. MST. The game time will not change if ESPN picks it up, Johnson said.

ESPN does not have a game scheduled to air in that time slot on ESPN or ESPN2 this week.

A final decision is expected Tuesday. Possibilities include ESPN producing the game solely for its broadcast or picking up the KTVB production to show nationally.

WAC commissioner Karl Benson refused to comment.

The buzz in bowl circles is starting to indicate that No. 15 TCU will be the Mountain West Conference representative in the Poinsettia Bowl in San Diego if Utah beats BYU on Saturday. That would set up a potential showdown between WAC champion Boise State and TCU, whose only losses came at Oklahoma and Utah.

Why the hell did seven even bid to cover?

Oh please, we can't have the national embarassment of Mark Johnson/Tom Scott/David Augusto spewing their garbage and cliches for all to hear.

And you were speaking of ESPN or KTVB?

wouldn't it be great if the

wouldn't it be great if the whole nation gets to hear Tom Scott give his "proberbial" goofball observations. What joke. If I hear him say proverbial one more time I will puke.

I've listened to him since 1973 or '74, why does he bug you?

That's on KFXD.

TCU and BSU

Didn't Dinwiddie and the boys beat that team in 2003 or something? Great, I don't want another mid-major like the pirates last year to play. Boise doesn't seem to get up for the games like against BCS schools. Even though I love watching the boys play I wish it would be a more respectable foe. Hey Oregon State is on the schedule for 2010 and the Rogers bros. are going to be seniors. Love to see how BSU is going to stop them. Go Bronc's

Haha

Haha, you're an idiot. Did you forget that the pirates defeated the broncos last year?

Yea

I covered that, dumba55, they aren't as fun too watch b/c they don't get up for mid-major teams they play. Can you read? They lose in Bowl games if it's not worth it ie. ECU last year. Will it be TCU this year that they don't get up for if they have to play them. All I'm trying to say is it is a lot more exciting seeing a BCS team play BSU then another Mid-Major. TCU is a good team and I don't mean to take anything away from them but FSU has a history and is 2nd under Maryland in the ACC.

NFL Rushing leaders: 7)

NFL Rushing leaders:

... just sayin'.

hahahahaha

David Augusto on the sidelines....on national tv.....

Hilarious except for the humiliation

Great for BSU and WAC bad

Great for BSU and WAC bad for KTVB if they have to broadcast nationally. The best scenario is ESPN buys 7 out and puts on, oh anyone else. If 7 does take it keep the kid in preschool and send Larry G. He has done Play-by-play and doesn't look or sound 12yrs old.

BSU doesn't get up for

BSU doesn't get up for mid-majors. OU didn't get up for cupcake U

David Augusto

David Augusto is a hard working professional. Boise is a town of people who love their job and work hard at it and David is a good example of that.

He's kinda lame as an announcer none the less.

David Augusto

Thank you, David Augustos' family for this comment. A loyal family member would admit the coverage is beyond his talents and inroduce him to pre school tiddlywinks. Do not let him go on national TV and let him embaress us and himself!

Damn I want BSU to play a

Damn I want BSU to play a really good team. TCU is good. But BSU is undefeated (cupcakes). They've won everygame that was scheduled. (cupcakes). Doesn't their record deserve better (cupcakes). I guess it does matter who ya play. (cupcakes) Nevada will be a better test for BSU. BSU should win by 40 if they are really the 9th best team in the bation

BBOYR IS A CUPCAKE HATER

bboyr is a vandal (frosting). bboyr is a jobless cyberwhore (frosting). he enjoys long walks in the park. he plays with dolls and rips their heads off for fun (frosting). He thinks Barbie is anatomically correct (frosting). He believes the Vandulls will one day be competetive and eventually compete for a national championship (frosting). He likes to watch "The Notebook" because it makes him cry. He bathes in tahitian vanilla bath soap and thinks that beer is pedestrian(frosting). Bboyr lacks basic reading skills and enjoys stalking web pages of other teams since his hasnt been respectable this century (frosting). Bboyr is "highly educated" and dreams of one day holding down a job that isnt customer service. He likes spelling contests, especially ones that have the word "bation" in them. Bboyr is an all american guy, single for most of his college years, not cuz hes ugly but because he's annoying. People say bboyr has great potential if he could just stop wasting his days reading blogs of the team he hates most in the world. Good thing for his hate of BSU, else he would narry rise from his bed each day. (frosting). He should stop visiting this website if he really is the best blogger in the "bation".

Is anyone else in the mood for a cupcake? Oh thats right, Nevada leads the nation in rushing. Guess we'll have to wait until bboyrs team comes to Boise next year. I wonder if the Vandulls can count to 70. bboyr certainly can, he is, afterall, palouse educated. Let the frosting begin you big ridiculous, myopic, pallousian, dork. GET A JOB!(frosting).

Why do you use your email addy as a posting name?

Is that a dead-end, trolling account or are you sideways?

Maybe I halfway appreciate the rest but we seem to have a new generation of D'OH! coming along.

Smoly cox!!!

Man pal, what are you...two?! You just wrote a big'ol paragraph about another person's blog entry! Why cares about BBOYR...comment on the article. Remember, they're just words and that's no reason to light a fire in your head. Follow your own advice and don't waste your time bashing people who write things that might annoy you...it only encourages them. Just relax and let it go...oh, and smile!

Man Pal does have a sense of humor and he is smiling

Man Pal is a friend of mine Quicks. Trust me, he was smiling the whole time he wrote it. Besides, its rare that there is any good chatter in here. It's fun to liven things up a bit dont you think? I think Man pal is just rubbing the Bronco win in bboyr's face a bit. No harm, no foul.

...better than TCU

....you really think Nevada would be a better test than TCU? You just said our schedule is cupcake, but Nevada is better than TCU. Are you listening to yourself. Put the bong down and open the window for some fresh air so your mind can breathe. Your a walking contradiction!

Texas Tech...

... (#2 in nation) only beats them by 16, and you think the Broncos need to win by 40 to prove they are #9? You are truly one of the most ignorant people to post on this site.

...on your side

...but Mizzou did destroy the 'Pack this year. Nevertheless the Wolf Pack can't hold a candle to TCU.

If you want some solace, nobody's column has the same results.

Complete pea soup in the collective crystal ball. Bowl game predictions would be charged with fraud if they charged money for the 'service'. As late as it is in the season it's the blind talking about the other blind.

ESPN

Hopefully, ESPN picks up the game and brings in their cameras and crews. Channel 7 coverage shown nationally would be embarassing. Would be nice to have ESPN cameras there for reviews and challenges.

bring it on......

This will be a great game for us, if Utah wins out. When we spank the Horny...errrrg Horne Frogs at the Murph the Mountain West, who we always spank, will definately invite to their league. The MWC has received tons of love this year from voters. Now we need to show people exactly where were at amongst them.

This was written by a Bronco Alum, class of 2003, who lives in San Diego so you know he will be at the Murph watching the game.

What is so special about the Mountain West? Nothing much.

PERCEPTION

Everyone going to Reno this weekend take you orange gear and wear it all weekend.

..trolls are idiots

what is the point of your stupid posts involving trolls?

Because it's my signature file and newbs can be clueless.

Nevada

My take on this game is it's going to be won in the air. Kellen will short pass all night long. How many receivers does this guy have that can catch the ball? It will be interesting to see how much yardage they get after the catch though. The ground game will get some yardage but the pass is the key and Boise is a double threat team that can move the ball either way. I could have told you ESPN this is the game to watch, did you see last year? Hope you guys get it, much better picture quality.

D is key

I think the Broncos have to put 8 in the box and force Nevada to throw. They might get a few big plays, but overall, I just can't see Wilson and Thompson getting beat by Nevadas receivers. BSU should watch the Missouri tape to see how to defend that offense. On the offensive side of the ball, I would expect to see alot of passes up the seam just like we did against Oregon. If Kellen is on...it could be a very explosive passing day for the Broncs.

Stop K

The only threat I see Nevada having is that tall lanky QB that ran all over us last year. BSU is a master at plugging the holes but not at running down the QB which needs to happen. Offense needs to move the ball through the air b/c the talk about NEV D is they too are good at plugging the holes, stopping the run and rushing the QB. With Kellens quick release and eyes all over his head he should be able to leave Nev. D scrambling all over to stop BSU O. Last week I couldn't wait for the weekend b/c it was Idaho but this weekend is a little different, this game is going to be a game. I have butterflies unlike the last game where I just wanted to see BSU slap Idaho around. This one I don't know what to expect. Hopefully my superior football intelligence serves me right.

There has been sort of a.......

Sense all season that the Broncs would drop one at some point. I too am a bit aprehensive, but if the Broncos play a B+ type game or better, they should win. The weather is supposed to be relatively good. High around 55 I think, so maybe not a lot of weather related turnovers. If BSU doesnt turn it over and gets a couple turnovers of its own, there shoud be nothing to worry about.

UTAh

is going down this week............oh crap nevermind that isn't going to happen ok TCU would be nice but hey if we could play Florida state at home that would be sweet!

Come on

you are giving up, UTe's will meet there match Saturday, Angel Moroni gave me these peeping stones and I put them in this hat, smoked my pipe and saw a vision in the hat of some golden plates buried in my back yard. I dug them up and on the plates in Arabic it said BYU by three points, Oklahoma by 6, BSU stoomps Nev. Also, I deciphered, don't ask me how, I don't have a clue how to read Arabic, Boise in the Orange or was that me saying "Boy I'm hungry for an orange!"? I don't know, still kinda groggy from the experience but man I got the munchies, guess I'll go look and see if we have an orange for lunch.

......nice

....ask Maroni for the magic testicles...errrg spectacles. Maroni where are you? Oops. Best of Luck!

Go Broncos!

Again I can't believe I do this

To All, It's late and I have had another bad day. When this happens I just take it out here on everyone. I am really sorry for the comments made about BSU. The team is great and deserves a BCS bid. I hope you guys get one. I really thought we would have won last week but clearly we are a long ways off from being able to compete against you guys. Wish we had your coaching staff and talent.

No Contest

The D is irritated and thinking. The passing on the O will be unstopable.

GO BRONCOS

Please let ESPN cover the game!!!!!!!!

For the sake of national embarrassment I certainly hope that channel 7 works with ESPN to let them handle the coverage. I have nothing against Tom Scott or Mark Johnson, but they are not good play-by-play announcers, at all! I don't mind listening to them for local broadcasts, but they have no deep knowledge of the game. When a flag is thrown on a play the two of them give their own opinions as to what the call might be. Like they are trying to guess the answer to a question they know nothing about. They have undoubtedly gotten better over the past years, but they are still, at best, novice announcers. I would think that BSU is a big enough school to get some good up in coming announcer to do their games. And no, Tom Scott is not the answer. I don't know if anyone else has noticed this but, I really can't tell the difference between the two of them when they speak?!?! All I know is one of them say's proverbial a lot...a whole lot! "The proverbial flag has been thrown" ... "Now that was more of an Ian Johnson-ESK! run" ... "I'm not sure why they are stopping the play, but a flag has been thrown" ... "Touchdown Brincos!!". I mean the things they say and the way they pronunciate certain words you would think that they grabbed a couple of guys from the nearest coffee shop to do the game. I think they need someone with more emotion that actually calls the game and doesn't treat the Broncos like they are god’s gift. These two fellas can sometimes suck the life out of what would normally be a good time with there predictable phrases and poor knowledge. It's like trying to meet girls when your nephew is hanging out with you...just doesn't work! Give me $50 bucks and a six pack and I'll gladly do the games...good!

I Totally Agree

Im sure these men are good men but announcers they are not.
I hate how they just cant shut up...they talk and talk and talk. They really do guess on calls and on players. They also dont know the Xs and Os...and if that was all, I'd still not b*t&h about them. But when the quarter runs out and the whistle blows they act like they dont know why play has stopped...then they state the obvious. Everyone we are with laugh like its a skit. We spend most of our time during these blowouts rolling our eyes and repeating their comments.
Im sure they are cool cats out of the booth, but Jesus can we find some different guys? It looks like the next 5 years the Broncos will be ranked in the Top 25...the announcers should be good too.

PS The "proverbial" dude is Tom Scott.

I don't CARE! I don't even have stinking Cable...

What good is having a TV contract AT ALL if the purpose was to show the games ON THE AIR??? I don't CARE who is talking, THEY HAVE PICTURES THAT MOVE!
