Borah-Eagle voted online football Game of the Week

Fans voted Borah's visit to Eagle at 7 p.m. Friday as the online football Game of the Week.

That game won 56 percent of the vote to beat out Fruitland at Payette (37), Salmon River at Garden Valley (5) and Bishop Kelly at Nampa (2).

Borah enters the game 3-3 overall and 2-1 in 5A SIC Division 1 play, while Eagle is one of four unbeaten 5A teams with a record of 6-0 and 3-0. The other unbeaten teams are Capital, Vallivue and Lewiston.

Capital (6-0, 3-0 5A SIC Division 2) hosts Vallivue (6-0, 2-0 5A SIC Division 2) at 7 p.m. tonight at Bronco Stadium, but wasn't included in the online Game of the Week options, because it wasn't scheduled for Friday. Online Game of the Week voting only includes Friday games because of our voting window from 3 p.m. Monday to noon Thursday. That allows us time to write a preview and adjust our schedules to cover the Game of the Week.

But don't worry, I'll be at Bronco Stadium tonight to bring you the story from the Division 2 championship game between the Eagles and Falcons, which should be a thriller. If you're not going to the game, check this blog beginning at 7 p.m. tonight for live updates from Bronco Stadium.

As for Friday's coverage, I'll be at Eagle on Friday night, where I'll post live updates on this blog from the game. High school sports reporter Rachel Roberts will travel out to Payette (4-2, 2-0 3A SRV) for its game against Fruitland (6-0, 2-0 3A SRV).

End the poll on Wednesday...

End the poll on Wednesday and get the real game of the week... maybe game of the year!

When does the voting end?

I thought the voting ended at 3pm today....? Already have a winner? -- maybe a percentage of the total # of votes vs. population of the schools should be taken into consideration -- where else but in this online poll would one pit Div 5A games against Div 1A SMALL division games?

Sorry I fouled up -- replying to my own post -- NOON not 3p, but

I still stand by the thought of nominations for games in different divisions having a voting populace that is way out of whack....

Understand the Game of the Week nominations

Jesse thanks for explaining what games are eligible for GOTW. Capital vs Vallivue might not have been included in the Game of the Week, however, you hit the nail on the head when you say that the Division 2 championship game between the Eagles and Falcons will be a thriller. Once again, Good Luck to both teams!
