Boise State sophomore safety Jeron Johnson and freshman defensive tackle Billy Winn have earned midseason All-America recognition.
Johnson was named an honorable-mention All-American by College Football News. Johnson leads the team with 45 tackles. He also has 3.5 tackles for loss, four pass breakups and two fumble recoveries.
Winn was named to the Rivals.com Freshman All-America team. He has nine tackles, 1.5 sacks, one pass breakup and one forced fumble as a member of the line rotation. Winn started last week at Southern Miss but is expected to come off the bench this week behind Sean Bingham, who returns from injury.

Hawaii left two of its top four quarterbacks at home when it left for Boise on Wednesday, according to the Honolulu Star-Bulletin.
Tyler Graunke, who was the backup last year and started against Oregon State, apparently still hasn’t recovered from a hand injury. Brent Rausch, who was named the starter in fall camp but hasn’t started a game yet, was part of an eligibility snafu.
Junior Inoke Funaki is scheduled to make his fourth straight start for the Warriors.

Greetings!
Inoke Funaki meet Jeron Johson! That can't be good for Hawaii coming in with only 2 QBs? OUCH!
Jeron Johnson
Is this the same dude that everyone thinks should be banned from college football cus he hits too hard?
cmon
You cant hit too hard in football. There are illegal hits and there are legal hits. He can choose to do either and live with the reaction.
I Totally Agree
I was making fun of all those crybabies who dont understand that football and tiddly winks are different.
Where is Deschutes?
Has anyone seen him since the Oregon game? Maybe we should check the roster at the morgue?
Just another loud mouth
I agree!!! Deschutes was quick to tell everyone how BSU was going to get destoyed against the allmighty PAC 10 team in the allmight Autzen stadium!!! What he underestimated was the talent the Fiesta Bowl win over Oklahoma was bringing to the BLUE!!! GO BRONCOS!!!
deschutes
I am not so sure that the lame Ducks were all that all mighty. They will probably end up 6 or 7 in the pac-10
Hard Hitting
Jeron's got the rep. now that Hawaii will think twice when he's around. I love it, way to psyche them out before they even step on the blue. Go Boise.
you have no clue
Don't let your football arrogance cloud you. The warriors are for real....Greg McMakin's defensive mind will stifle your offence like Fresno. Because of that, your defense would have to work harder to stop Funaki, you have no clue to what Funaki can do; his recievers, his running backs; and his huge Oline are going after your team on your blue turf and worry you till the end; June Jones is a memory to Hawaii like your team's lost come friday night......have a nice day.....
Don't think so Tim!
Longrice!
Dude for one Fresno was overrated! They had one good game in the bowl game against a team that lost their coach and had absolutely nothing to play for. Hawaii is not good, and they won't be able to keep up with BSU. Bsu's defense in my opinion has played 2 teams with a better offense than Hawaii. Oregon, and Southern Miss. they shut down both teams as a whole. Take away the 4th quarter at Oregon and they held them to 13 points. and less then 100 yards passing. Please by all means have Funaki run the ball becuase it will be a longer game for Hawaii. Hawaii's only shot is for BSU to give them 6+ turnovers like fresno did... ahh not going to happen. Kellen Moore may make 1 mistake but it won't hurt. Southern Miss came into the BSU game averaging like 450 yards a game and scoring 34 ppg BSU held them to 280ish yards and 7 points. Like I posted earlier on another thread I think Hawaii will move the ball a little but won't be able to score. Sorry to say this game isnt' going to be close. Hawaii will be good again but not happening this year.
longrice
I hope you show up in here again when the Broncos kill your team..but you will be like all the rest...jerry lambert deschuts ect...
I'll be back
right; I've manned up and gave you and your team a fair warning; IF warrior lose I'll be back to give my congrats; but If BSU lose, I will be back to let you know about it.....and your arrogance is short lived......count on it....
Well, Its now Saturday
and still no congrats...seems as if someone else has an arrogance problem, and it was VERY short lived.
I haven't seen any...
..."manning up" around here. Where are those congrats you promised?
Longrice?
You gonna man up? 7 points and 5 interceptions.
Hes not going to man up
Hes like all the rest...but rest assured, if the Broncos lose a game they will be back in here giving it to us.
Ya we will see
Weve heard it all before so very sincere apologies that we dont believe a word...Hawaii fans are the arrogant ones, as I went to both BSU games on the Island last year. No worries, you guys got humbled fast didnt you?
Sugar Bowl
I could've told you who was going to win that game during warmup. Those UH boys looked lost and scared, not a good way to enter a bowl game. Everything BSU did the year before (2006), ouch. But that was the past, if Hawaii can't take it to the air BSU will win. Just can't run on BSU, they plug the holes. Oregon, even with the bigger team, found that out.
Your mangos are big as coconuts
Longrice, you have, indeed "manned up" -- it's obvious that you are as passionate about your Warriors as we are about our Broncos. That's good.
You bring some good smack -- that's even better.
I like a scrambling QB: we've had good success when we've had one (see Fiesta Bowl) and have had a hard time containing 'em (see Locker, UW).
But I like a level-headed, red-shirt freshman phenom even better -- ours is gonna carve up the 'Bows defense like a luau pig, and our defense is gonna make Funaki look like poi.
Enjoy the game on our "ugly" blue field -- you know, the one with the highest home winning percentage in Div 1 football -- and better luck next year!
