So. Miss looking for turnaround win

Southern Miss linebacker Gerald McRath, the 2007 Conference USA Defensive Player of the Year, sounded like a Bronco Nation convert when I talked to him yesterday.

On the Broncos: “I mentioned to some other people I know — it’s a team that plays well together. … It’s like they’ve been playing together their whole lives. They do what’s asked of them and they do it at 110 percent.”

On Kellen Moore: “He doesn’t look like a freshman, I’ll tell you that. That kid is accurate. I saw him throw an interception and I was like, ‘Wow, he threw an interception.’ And the interception didn’t really look like it was his fault. The kid plays with great poise and great composure. This kid is a freshman? For real? You might have to check that man’s grades.”

McRath said he’s looking forward to getting a shot at the Broncos in Hattiesburg, a year after the Golden Eagles made the long trek to Boise. He considers this an opportunity to turn around a season that has been disappointing so far.

“A lot of people are questioning how we are going to come back out, how does this team bounce back from the two losses we’ve had (in a row) and the overtime loss we had last week,” McRath said. “This is a good way to answer those questions.

“The Defensive Player of the Year thing, I’d trade that in every time for a conference championship or BCS bid or spot in the Liberty Bowl. I really want to get this thing back on track. This team put a lot of work in this summer. It was probably one of the toughest summers I’ve been a part of. You want to see these guys excel in everything they do. … I don’t like the way it’s going, but I look at this as an opportunity to get on the right track.”

So. Miss Turnaround?

The only thing So. Miss players are going to turn around are the fans from coming to thier next game after the loss to BSU!

Oh...

snap!!!

NO

I think they will have to wait one more week...then they can start their turnaround....GO BRONCOS

I'm hoping not

This is the one game I am able to attend this year, so here's to S. Miss waiting one more week for their turnaround. Though even with 2 losses, Lets hope they Bronco's listen to Pete and don't give these guys an inch.

MemphisBronco...

Good on you for attending the game. I'll be sitting down here near Marsing cheering my Alma Mater on. BTW, I've had some good times in Memphis. Hope you're enjoying your time there, and thanks for being a fan.

I didnt finish my degree there..

I fininshed it in Tennessee, but BSU has always been home.

GO BRONCOS!

BSU by 20. Reason; night game so heat will not be as bad

as could be. We need to stay balanced and focused and not have turn-overs. They kill you every time.
P.S. new format by Statesman for this board on news stories is terrible! This old one is much better.

Thank you

for not responding with comments about how tough Southern Miss is going to be and how it will prove BSU is a top 15 or even top 10 team if they can overcome such a challenge on the road. I was getting worried that people actually believe BSU's schedule is one of the toughest in the land.

ONLY

thing tough around here is proving your not a moron with little to no insight about college football.

or

not trolling the message boards looking for a reason to post a derogatory comment.

Come on guys...this is a

Come on guys...this is a very, very tough schedule. look at it! It doesn't get better than this!

You have to be joking

BSU has a tough schedule? Seriously?

You have to be drinking heavily already

wink wink...make the BSU

If this had been an actual troll post the attention seeking you just read would've been followed by screaming, name-calling and cutting and pasting for no apparent reason. We now return you to the Idaho Statesman already in progress.
