Help catch a moose poacher

The Idaho Department of Fish and Game is seeking information about the person or people responsible for the killing and wasting a bull moose.

The moose was killed on Sept. 26 or 27, north of Fairfield in the Rosetta Creek (Forest Service Rd. 471) drainage of Big Game Unit 44 near Warswick Hot Springs.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Citizen’s Against Poaching Hotline at 1-800-632-5999 or the Magic Valley Regional Office at 208-324-4359. Callers may remain anonymous and a reward may be issued for information leading to a conviction.

Poaching is stealing wildlife from everyone in Idaho, and it shouldn't be tolerated by any lawful, ethical hunter.

Remember, the poaching hotline number is printed on your hunting license. If you see someone breaking game laws, report them.

Sick

This is a sad situation, I sincerely hope they catch whoever did it.

Roger, what are the moose population #s in Unit 44?

That seems unusual for one in that area.

Unsure...

...of the population #'s in Unit 44 but I have seen several moose in that area before. I think the Castle Rock fire pushed a lot of game into that unit last year.

Colt 44

I see on FG site Unit 44 included in the distribution of moose and 6 permits are allowed.

oddly 32, 33, & 34 also are in distribution which I have heard of several in Warm Lake area, BUT there is no hunting in those Units. Seems there would be more # in 33-35 yet no tags.... hmm.
