Meridian at Capital football live blog (FINAL)

9:14 p.m. — FINAL
Capital 22, Meridian 16: Capital safety Cory Bell intercepted Meridian quarterback Kevin Hallock to seal the victory for Capital with 1:13 remaining in the game.
8:57 p.m. — Capital 22, Meridian 16: Jalani Phillips continues to dazzle. The senior running back scored his third touchdown of the game to put Capital ahead 22-16 after the two-point conversion. Phillips has 185 rushing yards on seven carries.
8:48 p.m. — The third quarter went by quick and without a score. Meridian still leads 16-14 with 12 minutes left.
8:10 p.m. — Halftime and Vallivue-Centennial update
Meridian leads Capital 16-14, powered by 74 rushing yards from running back Blaze Montgomery and 86 passing yards from quarterback Kevin Hallock. Receiver Ked Starr and Montgomery have scored TDs for Meridian, while running back Jalain Phillips has two TDs and 148 rushing yards for the Eagles.
Despite trailing by only 2 points, Capital picked up its first first down on the final play of the first quarter. Phillips' two scoring runs covered 68 and 72 yards.
In Caldwell, sports writer Rachel Roberts reports that Vallivue is leading Centennial 21-14 at halftime. Falcons running back Chase Christoffersen has one rushing TD and wide receiver Adam McLinn has a pair of receiving TDs.
7:58 p.m. — Meridian 16, Capital 14: Blaze Montgomery capped a nine-play, 54-yard drive with a 1-yard scoring run to put Meridian back ahead late in the first half. 1:44 remaining in the second quarter.
7:40 p.m. — Capital 14, Meridian 9: Jalani Phillips is off to a sizzling start as he scored his second touchdown, this time on a 72-yard run up the middle. He has 144 yards on three carries. 9:47 remaining in the second quarter.
7:35 p.m. — Meridian 9, Capital 7: Jarod Bodine put Meridian ahead for the first time tonight with a 41-yard field goal. 11:16 remaining in the second quarter.
7:24 p.m. — Capital 7, Meridian 6: The Warriors answered with an eight-play, 71-yard drive capped by a 6-yard TD pass from quarterback Kevin Hallock to Ked Starr, but they missed the PAT. 2:44 remaining in the first quarter.
7:13 p.m. — Capital 7, Meridian 0: Running back Jalani Phillips took the handoff from quarterback Jeremy Powers and scampered 68 yards down the left sideline for the game's first score. 5:57 remaining in the first quarter.
