Check out October Brewer's Festival in Boise's Linen District tonight
Submitted by Patrick Orr on Thu, 10/02/2008 - 3:28pm.
Fresh craft beer will be flowing tonight at Donnie Mac's Trailer Park Cuisine at 1515 W. Grove St. in Downtown Boise tonight — and it's for a good cause.
Four of the Treasure Valley's local brewers — The Ram, Sockeye, TableRock, and Ontario-based Beer Valley — will join pacific northwest beer stalwarts Widmer/Red Hook to help raise money for the Boise Nordic Foundation tonight.
For your $10, you will get to drink five delicious and fresh four ounce samples of delicious pacific northwest craft beers and support Nordic skiing at the same time. And after you spend your first $10, additional tickets for the four ounce samplers are only $1 each.
(Don't forget that Nordic Skiing is a great way to exercise away all those beers you will likely drink this winter, so look at it as an investment in the future).
The event is from 4-to-9 p.m.
In the spirit of Oktoberfest, about half of the brews will be German or eastern European styles.
It is unclear at this point what the Sockeye guys will serve tonight but here is a list of the other beers which will be available:
Beer Valley — Amber Ale and Pigskin Pale Ale.
Table Rock — Hefeweizen and Oktoberfest.
Red Hook/Widemer — Late Harvest Autumn Ale, Okto, and Kona Pipeline Porter
The Ram — Oktoberfest, Clearwater Kolsch, and Solitary Heron English Summer Ale
Snake River Brewing — Kolsch, Obi-Wan Organic Amber, and Zonker Stout

Just curious...
Does any one of these brewpubs have a better rep than the others? Both in terms of beer and in terms of food? I figure the food is standard pub fare at all of them, but still........I've read only one opinion on the matter, and that was to avoid the food at Table Rock.
Good thing it's INDOORS.

If this had been an actual troll post the attention seeking you just read would've been followed by screaming, name-calling and cutting and pasting for no apparent reason. We now return you to the Idaho Statesman already in progress.
Just found out
Just found hte Beer Valley guys, and they were the best down there. I wish there were more of these events in Boise. Portland sure is lucky.
Great New Event!
What a fun event! The weather was perfect, the beer was good and plentiful and the (big) crowd was psyched and having a great time. All that, and it was a fundraiser to boot! Nice job!
It seems odd to have a
It seems odd to have a brewers festival at a joint owned by someone who doesn't drink (against his religion and all).
