Drive notes: Thomas, a true freshman, came off the bench slinging. The kid can throw and he moved the Ducks quickly down the field.

Drive notes: Thomas is carving up the Boise State defense. He just marched the Ducks again for another touchdown. But Matt Evensen missed the extra point. That could prove huge. Boise State needs to move the ball and take some time off the clock. And figure out a new pass defense.

• Boise State did not need that. Kellen Moore fumbled the snap and now Oregon has it again. The clock can't move fast enough for BSU.

Third quarter

Boise State 37, Oregon 13

Drive notes: What a miserable start to the third quarter for Boise State. Kellen Moore throws an interception deep in Bronco territory and Johnson cashes in two plays later. Not the way the Broncos wanted to start the second half, especially with a big lead. Wonder why they didn't try to run the ball a little bit on that first drive?

Drive notes: The Broncos got Perretta matched up against backup middle linebacker Casey Matthews on the right sideline and took advantage. Moore just lofted one out there for Perretta who outran Matthews. Big momentum shift for Boise State.

Drive notes: Boise State again moved the ball down the field. The big play was a 37-yard swing pass from Kellen Moore to Jeremy Avery, who made a great cut and was led by a convoy of blockers.

Drive notes: Kyle Wilson intercepted Chris Harper for the second time in the game, setting Boise State up at the Oregon 20.

Halftime

• Oregon QB Jeremiah Masoli (head injury) will not return to the game. Masoli completed 3-of-4 passes for 27 yards in the first half. He also had one rush for 9 yards.

That was an amazing first half for Boise State. The Broncos scored 24 straight in the second quarter, took the crowd out of the game and stymied the Oregon attack.

Boise State forced two turnovers in its territory, including a key stop on the last drive of the half. Kyle Wilson's interception at the 1 kept Oregon off the scoreboard and kept momentum squarely in Boise State's corner.

The small but vocal blue-and-orange contingent at Autzen was making a lot of noise as the teams ran off the field. The majority clad in green and yellow was very, very quiet.

Still a lot of football to go, but Boise State has got to be feeling great. And Bronco fans are feeling even better.

Second quarter

Boise State 24, Oregon 6

BSU: Kyle Brotzman 51 field goal, 14:56
Drive notes: Aided by a 15-yard pass interference penalty and a 20-yard pass and run from Kellen Moore to Richie Brockel, the Broncos moved into scoring position. A sack cost the Broncos a chance for more, but Brotzman delivered on the longest field goal of his career.

Drive notes: Boise State got the ball at the Oregon 26 after a 3-yard punt. Yes, a 3-yard punt. Ian Johnson put a ton of pressure on Duck punter Josh Syria, but I don't think he blocked it. Then Moore connected on a huge third-down conversion with Jeremy Childs and found Gallarda wide open in the end zone two plays later.

Drive notes: After forcing (Kyle Gingg) and recovering (Steven Reveles) an Oregon fumble, Boise State went deep and Kellen Moore connected on a 41-yard pass to Jeremy Childs. Two plays later, Johnson waltzed into the end zone. The crowd here at Autzen is stunned.

Drive notes: Moore completed a 34-yard pass to Kyle Efaw off a beautiful play-action on fourth-and-1 at the Oregon 37. Boise State has scored 24 straight points this quarter.

First quarter

Oregon 6, Boise State 0

Drive notes: The Ducks pounded it at Boise State, running 13 times on the 14-play drive and gaining 68 of 80 yards on the ground. Blount's run was a thing of beauty, as he hurdled Steven Reveles and eluded tackles from Jeron Johnson and George Illoka.

• Boise State took some chances, throwing it deep twice in the first quarter. But the Broncos' defense had some chances to get off the field on the Ducks' scoring drive, but couldn't get it done.

Pre-game -- Hello from Autzen Stadium in Eugene, Oregon. Some quick notes from pre-game:

• Went down on the field before the game and Autzen is definitely unique. The stands are very close to the field and there is a lot of yellow in the stands, which when combined with Oregon's yellow helmets and yellow jerseys contribute to some depth perception issues. With the field being so close, it almost has a basketball court feel to it — in a good way.

• The video board at Autzen is pretty incredible. Outside of the monster boards at Turner Field in Atlanta and at the Baltimore Ravens' stadium, it is the best board I have seen in person.

• Boise State middle linebacker Derrell Acrey did not take part in any team drills that I saw before the game. Acrey (left ankle) was considered questionable this week and will be replaced in the starting lineup by Dallas Dobbs. Losing Acrey would be a tough blow for the Broncos, who is the team's most physical linebacker.

• Oregon starting defensive tackle Cole Linehan is the older brother of Boise State verbal commitment Gabe Linehan. Gabe Linehan (Class of 2009) is a linebacker. Wonder who he is rooting for in this one?

• Oregon defensive back Jairus Byrd will wear Todd Doxey's No. 29 jersey this Saturday against Boise State. Doxey died in a swimming accident this summer and a different Duck is wearing his uniform number each game this season.
