Tell F&G what you want in your Sportsman's Package
Submitted by Roger Phillips on Tue, 08/26/2008 - 12:37pm.
A press release came over from Idaho Department of Fish and Game. If you're one of the many who complains that the department never listens to hunters and anglers, here's your chance to give your opinion.
F&G developed the Sportsman’s Package several years ago to provide resident hunters and anglers with a convenient all-encompassing license and permit package at a discount.
I know I love the sports pack because I just have to buy a duck stamp and I am ready to roll for a whole year's worth of hunting and fishing. It's pretty darn convenient, even if I don't use all the tags. I've never put a bead on a bear or even seen a mountain lion, but it doesn't bother me to see those tags go unused every year.
Since coming up the Sportsman's Pack, F&G has added a few permits, such as a two-pole fishing permit, which are not included in the the pack. Some folks have also asked the department to only include the most commonly used licenses, tags and permits. I know some states offer big game packages or deer/elk combos. There's a whole lot of options.
F&G is reviewing the the Sportsman's Pack and wants to know what hunters and anglers would like in it. If you could customize your own Sportsman’s Package what would you want in it?

Beefy alternator and really good tires.
Deer/Elk/Bear
Deer/Elk/Bear - That would be a nice combo, seems a lot of hunters want all three. Maybe a bird combo that is just for bird hunters with a duck stamp?
