The Southeast fires
Submitted by Kevin Richert on Tue, 08/26/2008 - 8:59am.
I'll be writing an editorial for Wednesday's paper regarding the Southeast Boise fires.
The first and most obvious thing to say is to express sorrow. I have a little bit of experience with this. A house fire damaged much of our family home in 1995, and we lived out of a motel for about six weeks. We lost two family pets and a lot of personal items — but, luckily, not our home. It feels rather minor in retrospect and by comparison — and just enough to give me only the faintest sense of what these families are going through. My heart goes out to them all.
Here's a link to our video coverage, and here's a link to a breaking story from this morning.
