Nine Inch Nails and concert notes
Submitted by Michael Deeds on Tue, 08/19/2008 - 10:51am.
— Bow down before the one you serve: Nine Inch Nails is confirmed at the Idaho Center on Dec. 8. (Ticket details are forthcoming.) Mastermind Trent Reznor is doing everything he can to deliver an eyeball-frying stage show on this tour. I wonder if Bruce Willis will show up in the audience like he did last time in Nampa?
— Two concerts! One night! Stacking shows is relatively normal at the Knitting Factory locations in New York City or Los Angeles. They'll try it here in Boise on Thursday, Nov. 13 with the Hotel Cafe Tour (doors at 6, show at 6:30) and Mickey Avalon (doors at 10:30, show at 11). Rachael Yamagata will headline the Hotel Cafe gig. Meiko also is on the bill. As for Avalon? He just keeps luring the squealing girlies with his catchy, juvenile brand of street dreg glam-hop.
— Reportedly, TicketWeb is considering eliminating physical outlets in the Treasure Valley, meaning you wouldn’t be able to buy tickets at the Record Exchange, among other places. You'd just have to go online. This would not be good news for the Knitting Factory Concert House or the RX.
— Scratch Gram Rabbit from the Alive After Five schedule. Folk-rocking guitar whiz Tony Furtado has taken the electro-pop act's place Sept. 3. This is probably good news; Gram Rabbit’s club vibe wouldn’t have worked so well at the sunny Grove with children playing in the fountain. Furtado, on the other hand, should fit right in.
— The Eric McFadden Trio will make a stop at the Grizzly Rose on Aug. 27 — yeah, that's next Wednesday. It's a 9 p.m. show. Tickets are $10 at the door.
— The Zebrahead gig Sept. 9 at the Knitting Factory Concert House in Boise has been postponed. A new date will be scheduled as soon as possible, according to the Knit.
