"The Dark Knight": Living up to the hype
Submitted by Michael Deeds on Mon, 07/21/2008 - 12:33pm.
UPDATE: Batman, aka Christian Bale, has been arrested in London in connection with an assault charge involving his mother and sister. That's just weird.
Wow. When people are scouring eBay for tickets to "The Dark Knight," you know that the biggest movie of the summer has arrived. Still, it's hard not to wonder if this film would have been so popular if not for Heath Ledger's death. It sort of reminds me of Brandon Lee and "The Crow."
Whatever the case, it's nice to see "Spider-Man 3" get some competition in the record books. I could never really get behind Tobey Maguire in the Spidey role -- he seems more like Batman's Robin or something -- and I'm a Spider-Man fan from way back.

If Ledger HADN'T died...
the hype would've probably gotten in his face. Humans are funny animals.
