Canyon Dem delegates gather tonight

The 29 Canyon County delegates to the Idaho State Democratic convention will practice be special guests at tonight’s (June 9) meeting of the county central committee.

The delegates -- 23 pledged to Barack Obama, six to Hillary Clinton -- will represent Canyon County Democrats at the state convention, set for June 12-14 in Boise. They will help select six delegates to the national convention, revise the state party by-laws and adopt the 2008 party platform.

Those campaigning to represent Idaho at the national convention are invited to practice a short stump speech at tonight's meeting, which starts at 7 p.m. in the Canyon County Courthouse, 1115 Albany St., Caldwell. All Democrats are welcome to attend.

The main business item for the meeting will be planning the fund-raising Peck Barbeque for Saturday, July 12. Also, new precinct captains will be introduced and the central committee’s new officers will be announced.

Where's senator (lol) Craig?????

He's B/fing you guys out of a lot, wikipedia has some nice information on how he blew a lot of campaign money on his defense last year... this is presumably illegal, but I think the GOP just wants him to go away in '08, It seems he is not a very nice person, abusing communities he is a part of & that sort of thing. I was dumbfounded to see that this paper did little to follow up on its once in-depth investigation & wonder if the power of politics/money might be at play here. I think he served his purpose, that the right wing where he derived his power is so demoralized by now (because of people like him) that the machine as we knew it in '04 is dead... but I still am shocked that this paper isn't seeking its just rewards in seeing this hypocrite's bed come to fruition.
