Meeting set to discuss registration fee on non-motorized boats
Submitted by Zimo on Fri, 06/06/2008 - 4:58am.
A meeting of the governor's non-motorized work group is planned from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. June 16 in Boise to look at charging non-motorized boaters a registration fee.
The meeting will be at the Borah Building, 750 W. Bannock St.
Non-motorized work group is a fancy phrase for task force. Anyway, things are still moving forward to make non-motorized boaters to pay a fee. Right now there is no state registration for rafts, kayaks, canoes and drift boats. They pay for restroom, parking and launching areas through federal fees.
If you're interested in this issue, you should attend the meeting.

Does this include toy boats on a string?
More doofus stuff from your loving government.
We can't have something go untaxed!
.
Sure! Our minds are OVERTAXED already!
toy boats on a string
Would it include inflated innertubes towed on a rope by a raft or boat?
You'll need a barge license for that.
Registering non-motorized boats
Small non-motorized boats do not necessarily need the the launch ramps etc. that Idaho Parks & Rec Dept. pledges to spend this new tax revenue on. What is really driving this effort?
