Rattlesnakes waking up

I got my first report of a rattlesnake sighting in the Boise Foothills today.
A reader called to say that she and her husband spotted one on the Hulls Gulch Trail.
It was coiled right in the trail.
Luckily, they spotted it before they got too close.
The snake stretched out to about 3 feet after the couple walked around it.
They said the snake appeared to be still sluggish because of the colder weather. They saw it at about 2 p.m.
The weather's going to get warmer and you can bet rattlers are going to get more active.
Be alert and leave them alone.
Good hiking.

So they aren't all posting to Richert and LiCalzi's columns?

How did it taste ??

After they got over the shock of seeing a snake.. why didn't they bash it with a rock, skin it out, and eat it. Then they would have something to talk about down at Lucky 13

Leave them alone????

Yeah, leave them alone so the next innocent jogger running with iPod in their ears gets bit!

ROCK THAT DAMN THING TO DEATH!

i agree. i never have seen a

i agree. i never have seen a rattler south of Kuna Mora Rd, where i go shooting, until i accidently stumbled across a den last spring. They were sunning on some rocks and there were 8 or 9 of them in an area the size of a 2 car garage. Most rattled then went underneath a rock, but i shot 2 that were in between me and the path to my vehicle and were still coiled looking at me.
