I'm taking some time off as a new dad and won't have time to post for several days. But please feel free to comment here and keep your fellow readers informed if you hear any hot local entertainment news. A couple of you have dropped great tips here lately.

Localer than most in a way...
In a summer vain: I've loaded up on toys from other people's attics...Pioneer SK-350 boombox (oh, how I wish I could snag an SK-71), 4-track TEAC reel to reel, dbx 155 4-channel Type I NR, Pioneer TX-9100 and found a dead Yamaha CR-1040 (aren't they all)? Add another Laserdisc player (Pioneer CLD-1090) and I am indeed King Of All Media (yes, I have quad, 8-track, can play 78 rpm, all but ELCASET and I DO have a BUSTED Zenith Movie Director Betamax deck). I have tubed, FET'd, Nuvistored and chipped. Don't give me any Compactrons, the weight of now useless saved TV tubes was proven to have sent Atlantis to the bottom of the ocean.
When I get those two spendy batteries for my Sears and RCA VHS camcorders I will be a freak off a leash and dogs have nothing on me.
So while you spend all your cheese playing with toyz I will be perfecting Schwinnvision for "Rockin' Rollfast nights" and I KNOW I can do better than Zimo's cellphone or DV cam.
UPDATE: The Rollfast is finally being painted!
Meanwhile, if your knees don't ache you aren't going fast enough!
Good news
Well this is just great! You should absolutely take more than a few days off. Hell, with a few days, you should just quit! Surely you'd do more good changing diapers than keeping on with the trainwreck of a job that you do for the statesman.

My $3 score on a Yamaha CR-1040 is halfway repaired...
there was nothing wrong with the amp despite a reputation of having dead power packs. The tuner needs help on both bands and the tuning shaft is really loose, missing a small knob but I have that River thing playing from an early 70s Sony tuner ST-80F (round dial) and the controls don't make noise/break up despite the mess it was in to start.
80 watts per channel kids!
My hobbies are kinda fun!
UPDATE: Think I scored the rest of the parts locally and cheap!
