See "Harold and Kumar" with a full bar
The second "Harold and Kumar" movie, out in Valley theaters today, is likely to have the same sort of cult following as the first. Who doesn't want to see a movie about two stoners trying to get their late night munchie fix?
That was "Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle." Now we have "Harold and Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay," which, in spite of its cinematic merits, will probably fare better than many of the recent movies about the current political situation.
If you're planning on seeing it, forget the multiplex and head down to the Egyptian Theatre. Tonight and tomorrow Lush is trucking over a full bar for the 6, 8 and 10 p.m. screenings of the film.
Lush often contributes the bar for Egyptian events, but it's cool to see this trend happening with the theatre's inconsistent movie openings.
The folks at Lush say they are already planning on doing the same thing at the Egyptian with upcoming screenings of "Blade Runner: The Director's Cut" and M. Night Shyamalan's forthcoming film, "The Happening." I'll keep you posted on this blog when we hear about dates for those screenings.
