Meridian: 3rd Street extension
Submitted by Cynthia Sewell,... on Thu, 04/10/2008 - 2:23pm.
The City of Meridian and the Meridian Development Corporation will host a public information meeting to discuss the future extension and alignment of E. 3rd Street in downtown Meridian.
The open-house style meeting takes place from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, April 16 in the main floor conference room of the Meridian Police Department, 1401 E. Watertower Ave.
The alignment identified will extend north to Fairview Avenue, creating an additional north-south route through downtown Meridian. This new connection will provide much needed relief to other north-south roadways in the area while increasing connectivity downtown.
Additional information and a map of the project area can be found online.

I already use that route regularly
to go from Franklin Rd. to Fairview, beats the traffic on Main Street. You just have to jog over to 2 1/2 Street for the last leg to Fairview. A thru street will help but I hope they keep 2 1/2 Street just 'cause I like the name.
Rural Fruitland has one too (*and a half), before Palisades Jct.
