Nationalchamps.net released its college football preview Wednesday — and the Web site has Boise State ranked No. 25 in its preseason rankings.
Fresno State is No. 23, Oregon is No. 22 and BYU is No. 19. Ohio State is No. 1.
The Web site also listed Boise State senior Ian Johnson as a first-team All-American and the No. 10 Heisman candidate. Wide receiver Jeremy Childs and kicker Kyle Brotzman were honorable-mention All-Americans.

Former Boise State linebacker, defensive end and special-teamer Josh Bean has signed with the BC Lions of the Canadian Football League. Bean was a second-round pick in 2007, before his senior season.
Bean is from Calgary.
“Josh comes from a very strong program at Boise State and he has all the makings of a very good football player,” BC coach Wally Buono said in a press release. “I expect him to add valuable depth to our football club.”

The Boise State veterans had some fun with the freshmen this week, posting notes on their lockers instructing them to gather for a group photo — wearing dress shirt and tie — Wednesday afternoon. The upperclassmen were bent over laughing as the freshmen arrived. They even took a photo to commemorate the gag.

Who is national champs.net?
Is this like the cable weasels? Blow your nose and start a new channel?
Oregonian...
You are absolutely correct. What a rag of an article!!!
Cause who in their right mind would rank Oregon in the top 25?
What a load of BULL!!!
I think at the least the unis should not match the funky...
style of the sci-fi football outfits. Please give alumni a break or hire Robocop to coach.
(You have 15 seconds to execute the man defense or I will apprehend you)!
Read up
on Oregon's spring practices. To say things have been going well would be putting it mildly.
The Oregonian isn't sold in this area, not for 15+ years...
The Oregonian is
crap anyway. The Register Guard is far superior.
A lot of us preferred the Oregon Journal back in the daze...
No Register-Guard on the stands in Malheur County either.
If things are going well in
If things are going well in spring practice either your offense sucks or your defense sucks or both.
Every team has outstanding recruits every year. Every team has a great summer in the weight room. In the rare event the local newspaper reports that your team is not doing well in spring practice - that would be honest journalism (an oxymoron).
I'm not telling you Oregon sucks, I'm just telling you that you can't tell anything from recruit rankings, spring practice or beat writer columns. No offense beat writers.
Will Oregon be sporting matching purses and heels with their wardrobe, I mean uniforms, this year?
I'd bet none of them cheats on test or get covered by SO's...
Oregon in the top 25
is that really a stretch? BSU in the top 30 is a stretch... when BSU Finally plays a season full of good teams and does not have one of the weakest SOS maybe then you can talk a little bit... but beating up on San Jose State and Utah State is really nothing to hang your hat on... play more Pac 10 schools play more Big 10 and SEC and see how good you really are.. Good job on putting Oregon on the schedule... but get ready to come home with your tail between your legs.. Oregon by at least 2 touchdowns....
BSU is nothing more than a weak program that looks good because of a Weak SOS.
Boy are you gonna feel silly...
if your team losses to the Bronco's this year.
Will you come back here with your tail between your legs and give us our just due?
I doubt it. People like you get your kicks going to other team's websites to talk trash rarely nut-up and admit when they are wrong. But there is no doubt with your PAC10 refs in your back pocket you probably will win the game.
Don' chu worra none, ol' Festus'll take care a them refs...
PBBBBBBLLT!
See, Bill the Cat agrees!
Your Right
I would feel really bad if the amazing happend and Oregon Lost... I would not hide not one of those type of fans...This PAC 10 ref thing is a bit old dont you think? out of the thousands of games that are played a couple of bad calls means that all the games are fixed? Really.... lets be honest all in all the refs in the Pac 10 and in all the refs for that matter usually do a good job of calling the games. Lets not live in the past and lets see what happens next year.
Oregon should win because they are a better team. bsu can not win on the road in a BCS conference so odds are that they will not win in one of the hardest places in the country to play. Autzen is a very tough place to play, unlike the highschool fields that the wac has to offer.
When bsu has a SOS that is in the top and not one of the worst in the country you can start to talk about being ranked or who should be ranked until then I would think it would be wise to sit back and enjoy the JV football the wac has to offer and leave the big time football to those schools that as you put it nut up and play other big schools. Enjoy the JV league and please do not cry when you get hammered by Oregon this year... just take it as a growing experience and a chance to come back to reality!
Costs too much to go--let's play softball!
Careful big guy
The ref thing may be a bit old, but there are always instances to make people wonder. There is always a first time for everything. Maybe BSU is ready to beat the likes of a Pac-10 school on their own turf. Hey, you are without Dennis Dixon and that fancy halfback of yours.
And one thing is for certain, Boise State (which is in the WAC) has lost only one game on this field since joining the WAC 6 or 7 years ago. Come play here and let's see if there is a different result. Maybe next year, eh? Because Boise State sure can take on your likes over here in Idaho on the blue!
SoS
BSU is playing it just the way the system dictates. Since they are a non-BCS school they are not legit contenders for a national title - so why pile the schedule high with BCS schools? Just to go out and get hammered into the ground - because non-fans poke at their SoS? Nope! So they play a mid-major, non-BCS school (2 and 3 star recruits) schedule and win to their advantage.
Playing a bunch of BCS schools won't work to BSU's advantage (yet) and a large percentage of BCS schools would just soon stay away from schools like BSU because it is a lose-lose situation. Win and everyone says - whatever - they are cream puffs. Lose and everyone is embarrassed, runs for cover and calls it a fluke (2007 Fiesta Bowl)!
One thing separates BSU from their fellow mid-major or non-BCS schools - they have a serious legacy of winning - and have risen to national recognition. Starting from the Junior College days they have consistently moved up and stepped up their game (http://www.broncosports.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=9900&KEY=&ATCLID=847518&SPID=4061&SPSID=54437). Very few schools can claim rapid and sustained success like BSU, sure there have been down seasons when moving up from Div II to Div I but that is to be expected.
Since grabbing headlines they have expanded facilities, increased their recruit pool and influence and will only continue to grow and dominate. The WAC will likely show them the door or they'll be invited to move to another conference in the next 2-5 years (if history is any indicator). Oregon has a great program and you can bet that BSU (and their fans respect that), but do not fear it. So don't be to terribly amazed when they come to town and make a game of it. If Duck fans aren't just a tad bit worried about the game then they have fallen out of touch and are suffering from OU syndrome. For BSU it's not a question of if but more of question of when.
SOS
I think maybe this strength of scedule problem could be soldved by just going back a little and make the BCS conferences Div I the sub-primes Div II. The BCS schools keep thier Bowls sub-primes keep theirs.
How does chipped beef on toast help (SOS)?
BSU vs All Idaho High Schools
bring em on. We'll take um one at a time. They will have a problem with the state champs though, whoever they were. But then again, who is BSU? Chipped beef on toast, soaked in milk. SOS.
