Academy Award-nominated director Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu ("Babel," "21 Grams") directed the latest in a series of TV ads for the Meth Project. The ads, which started airing in Montana Tuesday, are expected to start airing in Idaho soon.

The Meth Project ad campaign, which began in Montana in 2005, has featured some hard-to-look-at TV and print ads aimed at detracting people from trying the drug.

On a mission for cheaper fuel

Nampa-based Mission Aviation Fellowship has had to ground planes because of a shortage of aviation fuel, also known as "av gas."

In response, the company is trying to acquire a new fleet of planes that run on cheaper and more readily-available jet fuel.

Former South African President in Moscow

The Lewiston Tribune reported on former South African President F.W. de Klerk's visit to Moscow Tuesday for the University of Idaho's annual Borah Symposium.

De Klerk's theme was forgiveness.

"Until we truly forgive our enemies, we carry in our hearts a bitterness that can poison every other aspect of our lives."

Top spot for a central Idaho airport?

The Mountain Express reports on the small storm a-brewin' over the possibility of a small, new airport near Fairfield.

The story says opponents of an airport in Camas County "have speculated that actor Bruce Willis, who offered property he owns near Fairfield for an airport, and cellular phone titan Bruce McCaw, Camas County's largest landowner through corporate names, want to build an airfield to help boost travel to Willis' Soldier Mountain ski resort."

Stanley: Colder than Siberia even in April

It comes as no surprise since Stanley is accustomed to some of the lowest temperatures in the country, but the central Idaho mountain town hit a brisk minus 17 degrees Tuesday (the coldest in the lower 48).
