Bring on the noise!!
Submitted by Nonprofit blogger on Tue, 03/04/2008 - 10:11am.
Editor’s note: Here is the premiere blog at IdahoStatesman.com from the Divas for a Difference. The Divas – Cece Gassner, a local attorney, and Larissa Lamson, a manager for a software technology company — aim to promote a spirit of community as well as highlight news from nonprofit groups. This blog will appear every Tuesday and Thursday. The Divas also write a regular column in Sunday’s Idaho Statesman and Treasure Magazine.
The bidding was loud and furious at the Dress for Success auction, and sound of the fantastic live auction items added to the frenzy!
Cherie Buckner-Webb decorated a lovely teapot and delighted the crowd with an amazing concert with a close friend of hers, demonstrating her love for the cause. She donated tickets to the Gene Harris Jazz Festival and a private concert for you and your guests!
Ben Evans, National Motocross Amateur Champion, also really raised the roof with the sound of his bike as he entered the Grove Hotel ballroom to wild fanfare! If you are a motocross fan, you would have loved this package -- motocross gear from head to toe, private motocross lessons with Ben, and a great mini-motocross bike!!
And no one can forget the "oooooohs" that went across the luncheon as Dave Evans revealed the beautiful life-size playhouse that he donated along with his skillfully painted teapot. We just know that we would have done extra chores for years to have a playhouse like that when we were little girls!
All told, it was a fabulous event, and hats are off to Executive Director Debi Foster and all of her volunteers for an amazing event!!
