Asian pop star to play lead in Wachowskis' ninja movie

An actor known as the "Justin Timberlake of Asia" just signed on to play the lead in "Ninja Assassin," the next project planned for the Wachowski brothers.

South Korean pop star Rain (his real name is Jung Ji-hoon) will make his Hollywood debut in "Speed Racer," the eagerly anticipated Wachowski brothers-directed film that will be out this May.

Rain starred in the 2006 South Korean film with a killer title — "I'm a Cyborg, But That's OK."

"Speed Racer," based on the '60s Japanese animated series, also will feature Emile Hirsch, Matthew Fox and Christina Ricci.

While the Wachowski's (of "Matrix" fame) are directing "Speed Racer," they'll be producers on "Ninja Assassin." "Ninja" won't even start filming until later this year. So for now, check out the impressive trailer for "Speed Racer."
