Brennan says he's 100 percent; Bronco sendoff info

Hawaii quarterback Colt Brennan said Monday afternoon that he’s healthy for Friday night’s WAC championship showdown with Boise State.
“That’s why I sat out last week — so I could be 100 percent for the rest of the season,” Brennan said. “Now I don’t have anything to worry about. I’m as close to 100 percent as possible.”
Brennan took just two snaps in the Warriors’ 28-26 win Friday at Nevada. He threw two screen passes. The plays were put in to set up a package later in the game where Brennan would have thrown deep, he said, but backup Tyler Graunke played well enough that those plays weren’t necessary.
Brennan said his team — and the community — already is pumped about this week’s sold-out game. The Broncos are 6-0 against the Warriors in WAC play, including tight wins the past two years.
“The struggle has just been to get here, to get to this point,” Brennan said. “Everyone has been wanting to play Boise with the last two years, how crazy those games have been, how well we’ve done and come away with losses. We’re dying to play Boise. To be here finally, it’s a relief.”

Fans can cheer the Broncos as they depart for Hawaii by lining up outside the Varsity Center and along Broadway Avenue near University Drive at noon Wednesday. The team leaves the Varsity Center, which is in the south end zone of Bronco Stadium, at 12:30 p.m.
The team buses will take Broadway to I-84 on their way to the airport.

The Broncos are staying at a hotel right on the beach in Waikiki — but the beach might be more rumor than experience, at least until after the game.
The Broncos arrive in Hawaii on Wednesday night and will spend all day Thursday in team functions like meetings, a walk-through practice and meals.
Past Bronco teams have had a little more time in Hawaii and have visited Pearl Harbor or other tourist destinations. This year’s team won’t do any of that, coach Chris Petersen said.
“We’re going to play football and they can go back for sightseeing tours,” Petersen said. “It’s such a short time (in Hawaii). It just evaporates so fast. We’ll just stick to our normal routine.

Hawaii Game no longer has BCS implications for BSU
bsufootball.blogspot.com
They voted us out.
Well!
Are you guys gonna become like Cubs fans or whatever?
HA HA
HA HA HA. I'm a fan of the team that will win the Super Bowl this year!
Aloha at the Aloha Stadium
Here's hoping that a few bums don't ruin the Bronco fans trip to Hawaii for the game.
I attended a Hawaii game in Boise 3-4 years ago (BSU won in a rout) and the crowd there was very classy. Only the announcer's repetitive "and that's another Boise State . . . first. . .down" - which I heard over and over unfortunately was annoying. Hopefully our Hawaii fans will treat our BSU visitors the same way.
Go Warriors!
Bush Hamdan
I'm confused. Is Hamdan the backup QB again, or was Coughlin just sick this week-as was reported? I read your article early in the year about "Hamdan's Demise" yet he looked like Dan Marino out there Saturday(granted, It was Idaho.) Who do you think will start next year for Boise State at QB?
Broncos
Broncos win it by 7. You heard it hear first.
Broncos
Broncos win it by 7. You heard it hear first. lol
Partially right
Broncos by 17
Better
More of a cushion, I like that.
no kidding!
Especially from Vandal Tom!!
Tough Game
This is going to be a great game. I have watched 3 Hawaii games this year, and every BSU game; and the only logical conclusion is- BSU will win. Special teams, Defense, offense- we will win. Hawaii doesn't run the ball very well, so we don't have to stack the box; we can put more guys back to cover their incredible receivers. And if we get an early HARD hit on Brennan, Hawaii is just plain finished.
BSU 45 Hawaii 21
Tough game?
This is the problem with BSU's schedule. You consider a game where you predict you will win by 24 as a tough game. And yes, you can argue that is because BSU is that good, however, most will see it as BSU's schedule being that weak. Try actually winning against some teams you aren't favored against. And YES, I am aware of Oklahoma and Oregon State. I am also aware of Georgia, Washington, Oregon State, Arkansas, etc. I believe the record against BCS teams the past 8-10 years is something like 4-18. That calculates to a winning percentage of .222. Not quite as impressive. If BSU was THAT GOOD, I believe the winning percentage would be slightly higher than that against the BCS teams.
I love it
when people bring up Boise State's record against BCS teams. You do realize that Bob Stoops' salary is pretty much what the entire football program at Boise State sees, don't you? Boise State plays in the WAC, so you should compare what they have accomplished with other teams in the WAC or other non-BCS conferences. The fact is, we destroy similar teams. So, let's look at the BCS teams. The fact that we've beaten them at all shows that we perform better with the resources we have than they do. Imagine if we had the recruiting and money of a USC or Ohio State. Boise State has shown that they can compete against them and sometimes pull off the win. Boise State IS that good.
Imagine
Imagine if the University of Idaho had a 30,000+ stadium, imagine if the University of Idaho had a population base of 300,000+, imagine if the University of Idaho had USC or Ohio State's players, imagine....The point is that BSU is trying to compare themselves to the BCS teams, especially when they are saying that they deserve to be in a BCS bowl if they succeed with their schedule. Also, there are many universities that are in the BCS conferences that have the resources you say will make things even and those teams do not always do so well. One team that comes to mind is Washington. Although, I do like the idea of a playoff system. That way teams like BSU, Hawaii, etc. would have to prove themselves more than once.
still better than the mighty vandals
Since 2002 the Vadals winning Percentage is .214
02 2 - 10
03 3 - 9
04 3 - 9
05 2 - 9
06 4 - 8
07 1 - 10 (still have to lose to Utah st so will go to 1 - 11)
thats 70 games in 6 years and The mighty vandals winning percentage is .214 against teams like Montana, Eastern Washington, North Texas, Louisiana-Monroe Wow you should be really proud of that. If I take these schools out and say we compare your winning percentage against the schools we both have played the mighty vandals are at a big 0% now that is a program to be proud of. Way to go Vandal nation!!!!!!!!!!
True
That is why the Vandals are ranked where they should be, very near the bottom. That doesn't change the point that BSU's accomplishments are being overstated and overrated and that BSU's success would be much less if they played in a tougher conference or had a tougher schedule. I will admit that if the Vandals played a Pac-10, SEC, etc. schedule they would still likely do poorer than BSU and would likely struggle to win a game. That said, at least Idaho is ranked where they should be.
The Vandals are ranked where they are because....
they are not any good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! End of story now go away!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Jake Bower
Chadd and Murph, Why are the BSU Coaches so adamant about not offering Bower? So maybe he upset them by picking a better school FIVE years ago, but that's the way recruiting works. Bower's the NUMBER ONE RATED QB PROSPECT in the country and wants to come here! Let me analyze our current QB's for next year: Mike Coughlin-he sucks, hasn't shown me anything. Nick Lomax-looks like a giraffe out on the field. Bush Hamdan-looked good Saturday, but if he's behind Coughlin and Lomax on the depth chart, something must be wrong-plus he's like 5'11''. Kellen Moore-the Timmy Chang of High School Football. Bottom Line: Bring on Bower!
bower
Bower is not the fit for blue collar BSU. That aproach has been succsesful and will continue to be. TEAM is the way to win for the Broncos. This Guy would not last long with the expectations here.
Be real
All the BSU QB's would do great if they were working with the 1st team. Bush looked great against ID b/c he had the first team working under him. All the other times these QB's had the 2nd or 3rd team to work with on the field. QB's are only as good as the team on the field.
why???
Someone tell me why tomellen keeps giving his Vandal opinions on the BSU posts?
WHY?
Because he's living.
How many zombies blog anyway?
Other than Colin Blunstone maybe or Chris Rainbow?
