Assault rife or target rifle

Here's an interesting tidbit about shooting.
Just over one third of the sportsmen and sportswomen surveyed recently by HunterSurvey said they enjoyed using the AR-15 rifle for hunting and target shooting.
To nonshooters, the AR-15 looks like an assault weapon or military rifle, and they can't figure out why someone would want one for target practice.
Guess you have to be a target shooter. To the sports shooter, it's just like any other rifle.
In fact, the AR-15 is the most popular rifle in America today, if you are gauging how many are made, according to Tom Gresham of Guntalk.com.
Rob Southwick of HunterSurvey.com, said the 36 percent who said they enjoyed using the AR-15 seems like a high number.
This may have been people who wanted to defend the use of these style firearms, he said.
If you don't know what an AR-15 looks like, go online and Google AR-15 rifle.
I got a chance to target shoot with an AK-47, which is another military or assault rifle.
It was fun, but it was a sure-fired way to burn up a lot of ammo.
So you wonder, when is a rifle a target gun or an assault weapon.

Depends

When is a shotgun a bird gun or home defense weapon?
When is a knife a tool or a weapon?

When is car a vehicle or deadly weapon?

"most popular rifle" by production? But how many of those are going to law enforcement and military? That could be a little misleading and only ammo for the anti-gun wackos!

An AR15 is not an assault rifle

Recently a spokesperson for the Miami Police Dept was
whining about the proliferation of civilian owned
"assault rifles" and how they shoot a "clip" of 30 rounds
in a second injurying or killing all kinds of bystanders What a bunch of garbage misinformation especially from
a "police spokesperson" First of all the true definition of an assault rifle is a fully automatic or select fire weapon
shooting an intermediate cartridge.Secondly even military
grade M16s don't shoot that fast.Thirdly true assault rifles are machine guns that are highly regulated and
have hardly ever been used in crime

Can you bag your limit instantly?

Free yourself from the oppressive hamburger cabal, Ray.

I don't want a RIFE assualt?

I figure they're 'safer' than a BB gun in that they kill instead of just putting an eye out.

OK, don't shoot me, I'm only the bit player.

Ok foreignoregonian

Its not fair to make someone laugh when your serious!
AR15s make great target rifles.A very competitive sport
Talk is they may go Olympic.Have several myself

But, Ray...

I'd get a hernia being serious. Weighs a ton.
