Ankle sidelines Jeremy Avery for Utah State game

Boise State freshman running back Jeremy Avery (ankle) did not make the trip to Logan for the Broncos' game with Utah State. Avery is the team's second-leading rusher with 563 yards and eight touchdowns on 85 carries. Avery is the 10th Bronco player on the two-deep depth chart to miss a game with an injury or illness. »

At 39 1/2 years of age, 5' 11" and 290 pounds I could play RB and still bust holes through Utah State. Good job by the offensive line.
David Augusto said on the KTVB broadcast that Mel Kiper, Jr. has Ryan Clady as the 28th pick of the first round of the "08 NFL Draft. Is Clady really that good? I don't see him as talented as Darryn Colledge was and is.
Jake Bower
Does anybody know if Jake Bower coming to Boise is a legitimate possibility? I haven't heard much of anything. Is Coach Pete even going after him? I saw some highlights of his JC games this year and he looks impressive.

I am usually up to date with all the ins and outs of BSU football, but I can't remember who he is. This is due in large part to one-uping the "yuppiefan" guy who does a lot of posts on this board. You see for the last two I have been traveling to a few tropical countries in the Bahamas with my tall blond wife. and later this week I'll be going to the BSU v Hawaii game and then spending another 7 days in Maui. Isn't that's fabulous yuppie dude.
Avery missed
I love watching avery. He is so fast. Hope he makes it back although BSU is really covered in that position. I stayed up late to watch the UH, Fresno game and was thinking to myself, that time change really had Fresno slowed down at the first but Fresno almost caught Hawaii in the end. I think BSU is going to take them. As for U of I, let the smack down start. Any good jokes about Vandals suck ass team out there?

On the serious side...
Did you hear that practice was stopped in Moscow when a suspicious white substance was found on the practice field? They had to call in Homeland Security and everything. Well, the unknown white subtance on the Vandal field was analyzed and officials determined that it was the goal line. Officials further stated that that Idaho players were never in danger of coming into contact with the substance and wouldn't likely see it again.
It must be a serious side if:
There are Vandals all around that side.

Rankings
I just got off of ESPN and ranked my top 25 teams. When they posted the current rankings from other fans, I noticed that 174 people had actually voted BSU number one in the country. I was just checking to see if there are 174 delusional people in the Boise area that really believe they deserve to be ranked number one or if someone went on and voted 174 times. How could BSU get even one vote as the number one team in the nation? Even if you are there number one fan. That is just beyond crazy. Anyway, I was just curious.

And where did you rank BSU? Didn't huh? How bout Hawaii? I would be curious to see your top 25. So what's your prediction for the WAC title game?

I only ranked my top 25 and yes neither BSU nor Hawaii were in it. I honestly do not feel they belong in the top 25. As for my prediction for the WAC title game. BSU will beat Hawaii. Hawaii is pitifully overrated and will lose their last two games to BSU and Washington. However, they have their own bowl wrapped up, so it won't turn out all bad for them. Anyway, I will give credit to BSU for beating the teams that are on their schedule. As I have said, that is more than their WAC counterparts and many other teams in the nation can say. However, I honestly do not feel their accomplishments warrant a top 25 ranking. I strongly believe that they would have a very difficult time having a winning record in a BCS conference and more importantly that there are at least 25 other teams in the nation (actually more) that would have equal success if they were given BSU's schedule. However, it works for BSU so they would be foolish to change anything. All they have to do is keep running the WAC and every five or six years beat the one BCS team on their schedule to have a shot at a major BCS bowl. Then it is just a matter of pulling off the game of their life (i.e. Oklahoma) and glory days are here. That is why you don't have to worry about Coach Petersen leaving. If it were still the days where the BSU coach was paid around $300,000 I would say that your coach is definitlely leaving, but with the compensation package they are able to provide, he would be a fool to leave. His chances of equal success at UCLA, Michigan, Nebraska, etc. would be very little. Plus, his job security is far better here at BSU than it would be elsewhere. Anyway, sorry for the long response, but there you have my thoughts. For what they are worth.
